What have you done to your MSP today?

I would have been happy with just better rods/maybe pistons, but deff. forged rods and pistons for another $1-2k market price would make a world of difference, but then again you have to remember that this was their first mazdaspeed (at least in the states from what I have read) and it was more of a feeler car for the new market for "cheap" fun preformance cars, with the others like wrx

I'd rather have a subie too but I didn't feel like saying evo and subie every time so I just picked one. lol.

tru dat i hate digs with a passion lol

Real hardcore races happends rolling. not from a dig... those 1200 HP supras, Evos , Vettes Etc dont play from a dig, the real fun starts rollin !!!!!

Plus i would like to add, rolling races shows your real potential, anybody can have a bad day launching, but when you wanna play hard and real rolling shows others what you got under tha hood !!!!

plus no one really like racing from a dig in a str8 line anyways.. unless you wana get a 1/4 time.. lol but maybe thats just me

???? what u mean won't benefit i'm probky a good 80-100hp more then u still on a stock engine... i haveta say i'm benefitin and when i do build i won't haveta do s*** else but see those numbers go up even more

Im just saying, with these cars most people will be happy with 9-10 or maybe 12 psi, I would. But with increased boost levels on stock internals, there is always the risk of blowing. and yes you will see a difference with mods, tuning, and increased boost. But you can only go so far before it's time to put in some forged goodies. But until then, the real potential of the car is hidden by the cars weak points. Even though, most people don't plan on building the crap out of the car, they just want a fun DD with bolt ons. Maybe that will satisfy them. But for some others, they have big plans and they are seeking the full potential of the car. Therefore, you won't see the potential of some mods until you rebuild and tune for them

Knowing what i know now about cars, I probably would not have swapped my P5 for the msp.
from a mechanical standpoint, i could have done a lot better with the p5 and probably have spent less overall.
but i wanted a more unique car and the msp is one of the most unique out there.
On the other hand i dont know how people are killing them so easily at stock levels.. i beat the s*** out of my car a lot and have never had a problem.

I wont do any crazy big power things to it. maybe a LIGHT forge build when the motor gets up more in the kms, swap turbo, custom intercooler/exhaust and an afc. but try to keep the mechanical money spent on it less than 5k.

wish i had the money though. I know a guy who lives close looking to sell his 2002 ES for like $2500 cdn.. id buy that car, gut it, drop either a bpt-awd in it, or custom KL awd ;)
I wouldn't mind doing crazy s*** to that kind of car. but not one i have to drive everyday. and drive my wife and child around in.

Well, thats 12k more expensive than our MSPs.... now trow those 12k to any msp and go back to the MR and race them... things will never be the same if you know what im trying to say..

thats actually about the same as what the original owner paid for mine, all said and done. LOL

i do agree with you as well.... Rollin Races for real Racers !!!! lol

um... rolling races are for people who do not know how to race.
