What have you done to your MSP today?

I got one last question. The calipers have this V clip. I have no idea where it goes. Im thinking its for seperating pads??

Yeah if you look straight at the pads from the rear of the car, you'll see a small hole near the edge of the pads on the top and bottom. when you put the pads together like a sandwhich with the rotor in teh middle the holes line up on either side. Mine was on the bottom only on each side. The fronts have 2 each. Mine has always only had one each. It goes with the "V" pointing up. Yes, to seperate the pads.

its really not that bad. use of the tool is just a pain in the ass because you have to press the tool and the caliper together, while turning. and since both parts are free-standing its a pain in the ass.

I agree, to me the hardest part is just getting it started to turn, then the pressure lessens and it is fairly easy from there. But the first couple turns aren't that much fun.

Oh btw, this POS cube tool is around $14 at most stores, which is jsut redonkulous if you ask me, you'll see what I'm talking about when you see it.

it's totally worth it though..

I have a buddy that works there, I get stuff uber cheap. I traded him an older megasquirt ecu for a hoist and engine stand. Plus the returned items he bags and distributes sometimes, usually just missing a socket or something small is broken. When I rebuilt my tranny he was an awsome hook up for a shop press and arbor plates.

Went to the local dealer yesterday for a Mazdaspeed trunk badge with a part number in hand. Showed it to the parts guy, and after about 10 minutes of waiting he took my name and number and said he will call me when he finds it. I said sure and left. Later that day he called saying he ordered it and the cost was about $45 list, but I work for a local Honda dealership so I got it for $25. Picked it up today and once I got home I examined the invoice only to discover it had (gasp) the exact same part number I gave him...

Apparently I know more about the Mazdaspeed platforms than anybody working there. Thank god I never took my car there for any services.

That's how it was at the dealership i bought the car from. They gave free oil changes for a year and the first time i took in to get one and for them to figure ot what was wrong with the sub (inline fuse was blown) they said the the stereo was "6x9's in the rear deck and they didn't coverafter market stuff and since i added a turbo they didn't want to service the engine". I had the service manager call mazda up to ask them what came with the car.

For some reason mazda closed them.

sounds like my mazda dealship... i put a body kit, turbo, and custom painted my msp(nevermind the orange MSP poster behind the parts counter)!

^ I thought that it was just the dealership here. Even Talked with Mazda Canada and the whole front end on my MSP was after-market! After-market with a Mazda part number!

I also have a called the dealership to order parts, with a part number, and they take a day to check on the number. ARGH!

They sold the car to you and didn't know it had a turbo? LOL! Also, did they realize there are no actual speakers in the rear deck?

i had to take a part in just to prove that they due exhist! They kept trying to sell me a p5 fog delete cover and not a 03.5 delete cover. I only needed one side that day.(screwy)

Edit: here is the best part.... its all aftermarket but they wanted 1.8k for the turbo exhuast mani( I guess they only stock that one "aftermarket" part for out cars)

so anybody know a paint code to match the color of the MSP A pillar? I would like to paint my dual gauge pod in the near future.

edit: I'm talking about rattle can paints. Doesn't need to be anything special.

He probably didn't want the massive vibration.

edit: LOOK WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL! :D
