NEMOC Random BS Thread

I sell hakkas but they are very pricey depending on the size.
Didn't see any in 245/50R20. Edit, nevermind, found them $264/each. The price pretty much makes them break even with Blizzaks that go for $155/each if you get 5 seasons instead of 3 seasons out of them (roughly $52/season).

I'm thinking about going to TFT and just getting a set of 20"s for the OEM rims. They offer free winter tire changeover so in the long run it would be cheaper than another set of rims. I'm looking at $1300 shipped from TireRack for 17" rims/tires ($1600 for 20"s) vs $700-900 for just tires at TFT.

I just feel so disconnected from the road. Changing lanes on the highway makes me nervous. I can't explain it. Perhaps its because it is tall and narrow because I don't feel that way in my Dad's Avalanche.

You will not like driving my new Wrangler then!!!!!

I am loving it, especially in the snow this weekend!!!!!!!!!!

I've driven an 07 Wrangler Limited. It is wider than the Nitro/Liberty so it felt a little more planted to the ground. Maybe I just don't know the limits of the Nitro...and driving it in winter on summer tires doesn't help.

One thing I do like is the computer. It toggles between current gas mileage, outside temp, TPMs, etc. And the exhaust note is real nice. Louder than my car actually, but it tones down on the highway.

I would think that buying the smaller wheel would win out in the long run when you have to buy a replacement set for winter. Also sidewall is your friend in the winter.

come in today at 8 one hr late. two more days and its vacation time (mj). no snow or cold weather for 2 whole weeks.

Have fun and have a few drinks for us.

so let's set up a bowling meet! that would be a great late winter thing to do!

That would be cool.

Up at 6 to drive my oldest to Bangor. Got back around 430pm. Took the Focus. Will get to drive the Miata tomorrow finally.

Was good to have the girls home but the house is a wreck. Mary was cleaning while I was driving. Good exchange.

Good morning and good night. Massive headache, body aches, sore throat, and a slight temperature = going back to bed.

Sounds like a plan to me. Let's do it when it's at least 45 out, not -5. Lol!

Why....you guys bowl outdoors? lol
the ball rolls soooo straight in the cold!

Damn....that sux. After my trip up I should take it in to Firestone. I hit a couple of nice potholes in CT.

It's a savings of about $50 per tire, $200 per set. However steelies aren't available for her truck so the cheapest wheels will set her back $560.

The longterm picture is as follows. A 20" snow tire is ~$155. Two sets of these tires will cost $1240. A pair of 17" wheels will run about $560. A 17" snow tire is ~$110. Two sets would cost $880 for a total investment of $1440 once you add in the cost of the wheels. Give or take the price of tires and cost of shipping she wouldn't see any savings until she bought her 3rd set of snow tires. If she gets 3-4 seasons out of the snows that could be 6-12 years from now at which point she'd prolly be looking to sell the truck anyway.
