What have you done to your MSP today?

I own a Blazing Yellow MSP and bought it new off the showroom floor. It had a double black pinstripe decal which ran down the side of the car about the same placement of your proposed stripe. It also had a flying Mazda logo (about an inch in diameter) just in front of the doors

The decal has started to peal away in spots and I'm also considering replacing it with a painted stripe. One option was very close to what you're considering except a gray-graphite and red highlight (my calipers are red). The other option was to just replace the original striping and logo with a painted version.

Your color choice is works great. Maybe go a little narrower stripe and definately paint over choosing vinyl.

Is it the type of guy you laugh at with the rest of the guys when he comes in?

Yea, and I remember I had to move it one time that it came in and I just stared at the door for a second because there was no handle LOL. Turns out he "shaved" them as one of the tech's told me. I wish I could explain it better than that, but it's been a while and I forgot about it until now or I would have grabbed a picture.

Latest rendition of what I'm looking for. A little more subtle, but still got the accent. Took the inspiration from the paint job applied to Cessna 172Rs...

^ that's definitely cleaner looking. too bad it has to go across the door handles, sorta breaks it up. would it be retarded if you gave the line a little arc so that it cleared the top of the handles? just throwing ideas out there...

i like the second one. should go great with the inside accents in the car

and again im driving around with nothing from the midpipe back for exhaust(annoying as hell) and my hids were shipped out today. and im thinking of going and getting the reflash for my car in the next couple of days. any imput

and im looking at corksport exhaust hangers. any imput on that?

i have the corskport hangers, they stopped most of hte rattling i got from my apexR1/greddy combo. as far as the reflash, my car is flashed, and i have never gotten fuel cut, stock or modded

Well it's input not imput. I bought a set of CS exhaust hangars as well since I bought the vibrant exhaust and was told it tends to move around a lot if you use the stock hangars. Haven't had any problems with them.

sounds great im going to order them right now. its a 3 inch from midpipe back with apexi n1 and probably a custom 3 inch mid pipe and the i wait for one of the 3 inch down pipe. no cats or resonators ftw

I love this one, just raise it some to bring it above the door handles

I know exactly what you mean. He shaved the handles and put in door pops. There is probably a hidden switch in a wheel well or under the car that you can pop the door open with. This guy I knew in college had them on his badass old chevy truck he restored and blew the crap out of. Thing was a monster. Lots of old muscle will shave and pop thier doors. Its more fitting for them, not so much on econos.

Yeah, that looks alot better. But I would still bring the back of the stripe to the back of the car like it was.

EDIT: Have you thought about moving it down to where that crease is in our cars? that way it could follow the body line from the back all the way to the front.

...Thought about it and decided against it for the reasons people suggested I move the stripes up closer to the windows. Unfortunately, our door handles break up that smooth crease going down the length of the car, so any stripe that followed it would also be broken up and not as clean. I'm a big fan of the last rendition...

I prefer the last one, but its still too heavy. A little "finer" lines still. and continue it forward and have it curve down to nearly touch the most rearward portion of the headlight bezel. Right now it stops too abruptly at the front end.

I might just have a subtle but still noticable pinstripe applied. Similar to what you could have put on a reg. pro but better and more suitable for the msp

I was hesitant about the heaviness of the line as well, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. I'll probably extend it forward a little bit, but not too much further...

I'd say bring it all the way to the headlight, and maybe add another yellow outline on the bottom of the grey stripe.
