What have you done to your MSP today?

washed, waxed, vacuumed the interior, cleaned the brake dust off of my rims and put on a little tire shine...then stood back and looked at how the light reflected off of the paint. Spicy Orange is so sexy after a good wash.(not trying to start a war of the colors) Sometimes I wanna get rid of my car but when I look at it after washing it..the sexiness reminds me of why I still have it.

This is my shipment from protege garage thanks ken!

Ser - Looks good. Get those on.

-Just got back from Firestone. Got the hankooks on and an alignment and now i gotta break them in. Whats the break in period for tires again?
-Also, put on those bronze valve stems. The tire guy says they're legit. And they look off the hook. I just want them to hold up. I drive my car hard sometimes so these cant fail on me. Ill post some pics tomorrow, if weather permits. A
-Also, got a shipping conf for my oil sandwich plate. This coming weekend will be fun. finally complete oil pressure guage install, oil change, wash&wax, drive on monday with the dudes, pics! (thumb)

changed my oil and put on the winter wheels, somehow lost my camera though

Attempted to install the sandwich plate today and i miserably failed. The middle screw doesnt push the plate all the way down. So i tried by tightening the filter over it but it leaked. Im confused. Did i get the wrong item or do i need to use washers or something.

You need to take about 3/4 to 7/8 of an inch off the main threaded shaft. When you shorten it you can suck the sandwich plate up tight. Alternatively, you can thread the main shaft (Mazda calls it the "joint") further up into the motor, but I just cut some off cuz thats what other peeps said they did, and I have had no problems.

edit: wow i did not know that. Its not worth it then. I dont really need this guage that bad. Thanks for a advise tho. If i can find some washers i can give that a shot.

Again, I had the same problem and went all over the forum looking for an answer. Everyone said the same thing; just cut some off. Most said an inch; I cut 3/4", and was able to suck the thing up tight. I put the end I cut up into the motor so no one would know I cut it, then realized that with a filter on no one would see it anyway... lol

Snapped a few pics. Nothing special.

Engine is still dirty (fuoops)

hehe... looks good man

Its really not that hard to remove it to cut it down... if you ever went back to stock you could always buy a new virgin one to put back in; they cost seven or eight bucks at the stealership... I know cuz I bought one in case I screwed the first one up! I used a hacksaw and it took about two minutes.

Hmm. Cutting it off wouldnt be hard. But i dont think i can get under that car again. i gotta wait 3k miles and see if i want to attempt that. I really think some rubber washers could work. Ill go hit up homedepot one of these days.

Edit: so how do i remove it? Sorry newb question.

FlyHawaiian - I like it dirty!
