SO when i installed my ap, i didnt downlaod my stock map bc i was getting tuned at the time and i didnt want to wait a half hour because dyno time is $$. So now that im going back to stock i want to uninstall my ap. but i dont have that stock map.. I uninstalled the ap today and now the car is running on no map. Its idiling fine and driving well but if i try and punch it the car takes foreverrr to build boost and it runs very lean like 13's... my question is will the ecu reprogram itself back to normal? or do i have to go and get the stock map from sumwhere?

Yes im an idiot for not saving the stock map i no. But nothing i can do now =[

O and if i do need to get the stock map, how can i get it?

Any info and input will be very helpful
Thanks

very lean like 13's...

That would be rich...actually, that is normal. 12s would be rich. 15s would be lean.

And your car has to be on some sort of map. It wouldn't function without it. You're probably just used to having the car be faster than it is now, so it seems like it's sluggish.

Cobb should offer a stock (or stock like) map on their site. I would just load that in.

12s are very very lean,Not rich and its not normal. If it was stock you would be running in the 10s and that is rich. You should goto the cobb forum and ask them what you can do or just call them. THe Ap does come with a stock style map but I think you have to have the AP installed. I dont know if its a good idea to keep running it like that but you may be ok for awhile.

Since when is an AFR of 12 lean? 14.7 is stoich. It should obviously be richer than stoich, but 10 is really rich. An AFR of 12 is normal on the stock tune...that was target AFR for all of my previous turbo cars (this is turbo car number 7 for me), and that is what I am getting with this one on the stock tune. The richer you go the safer it is, obviously...but at that level you're almost choking the engine. Unless the MS3 is completely different than all other cars...who knows. But I haven't had issues.

OP, are you getting knock or knock retard under WOT conditions? That would be a good indicator of running too lean.

12's is very lean bro, at WOT u should be at 11's.. and iddiling and daily driving u should be at 14's

i solved my own problem, i called cobb and they said that im fine that the ecu will just set itslef to the map from factory, and i just need to drive it a little for it to get perfect. Thanks guys.. by the way dont unmod ur car and sell all ur parts, ull hate urself. stock speed3= soooo slowww

yes on this car 12 AFRs are lean. Ive seen them dip into the 9's on occasion before I got a protune. Now i sit at 11.6-11.7 afr which is perfect (11.6-11.8 is optimal). On other cars, leaning the car out will give you power, but for some reason it does nothing with this platform.

no necessarily tru, b4 i got tuned my car was running a bit lean at wot, it was at like mid to low 12's.. The car made over 300wheel, because since it was lean it was pulling timing, my car was at i think 8degrees of timing at that point. But u def want to be at 11's to be safe.

The timing is the big factor. My tune isn't nearly pulling as much timing as you, hence the richer afrs. Also being a bit rich keeps temps lower, critical for saving that puny excuse for a turbo bolted to the engine

14.7 is a stock afr for idle and not going wot.We are talking about wot afrs.
12s is a bit lean, mid 11s seems to be where its at for this engine with its stock fuel system. I dont even know anyone that is tuning to 12s afrs on this car, maybe hitting 12.0 or 12.1.

When I installed and uninstalled my AP, I downloaded the map to begin with which took like 40minutes. When I uninstalled it it and redownloaded my map to the car, it took about 2minutes. So unless the read and write times of the ecu are infact that much apart, I am not 100% sure that this is in fact my map. Since uninstalling the map, the car has never run the same as it did stock, way more KR.

if u uninstal it without flashing it with ur saved stock map, it will just go back to the map it came with from factory.

Once you uninstall the AccessPORT it flashes a stock map back onto your car. So it has a "map" but it is a bone stock factory tune. 10:1 and 9:1 AFR is horrifically rich, I would not want to run a tune that rich. a 12:1 AFR on a DISI engine is really not much of an issue at all and is perfectly safe. Are you still running modifications even though you are back to stock?
