$1K market adjustment..any others out there?

Didn't really notice or think much of it...but the dealership where I've got my
$10K down at has a $1K market adjustment...which they now claim is for
some type of "rust-proofing".

As I'm a nationwide mover I've had the oppportunity the check out '10MS3's at many dealerships across the nation and my dealership is the only locatiuon
that has this charge....anyone else noticed this anywhere?

They say they will deal with me on this charge...but no mater what I'm still in a $1K hole...cause if another place gives me $1K off MSRP and they give
me $1K off MSRP the 2nd dealer is a $1K deal better for me!

They also claim these cars are in such demand...and even though they've had a red one and a silver one sell rather quickly...the've had 3 blues ones
sitting there for 7 weeks..while another dealer across town has had 6 of
all colors sitting for close to 5 weeks.

Might just really stick it to my original place and have them transfer my down to a "sister" dealership of their's that doesnt have this charge!(breakn)

call their bluff then. This is the oldest trick in the book. Get your money and walk away. Your biggest weapon is the ability to say no. Rust proofing is BS. The car comes with a rust guarantee from the factory btw. it's in the warranty booklet.

Thanks for feedback!
Now after checking the net I've found a dealership 45 miles south from where I live
advertising 2010's for $22900!
A $2K diff from where I'm at now!

And there is a chance letting a dealer put on their own rustproofing will actualy void the factory warranty.

When i sold cars (almost 20 years ago lol ), we used this tactic to pad the profit margin on the vehicle,
undercoat, pinstripe, scotchguard package,
we payed about $75 for the package and marked up the price $1200.
It gave us some room to discount.
That being said, your choice is call the dealer's bluff, or find another dealer who is not using this tactic.

market adjustment makes me lol

and this guy agrees

Quickly take your deposit back and turn the other cheek on those turds. Don't let them screw you on the front-end (up-front cost overage) or the back-end (financing). If they try it one way, they will try to make it up by doing it on the other side.... Go to the other dealership, NOW...
