So my mom being the jackass that she is decided to spray paint on her side of the garage while my car is like 2 feet away from it. She did it many times even though i yelled at her not to. Recently I have been feeling my paint and it has been very rough for a 8 months old car that had been clayed polished and waxed then I started seeing little specs all of my paint. Friend said it could be just the metallic in the paint but its all over my windows and headlights. So we came to the conclusion it is my moms dumb ass over spray since its a small garage. So i am wondering if anyone knows and good detailed shops on long island that can remove the over spray and how much does is usually cost to get it done???

A couple things man. Moms aren't jackasses. Claybar the car. Paint overspray will come off. And next time, park outside or cover your car.

I tried claybaring did nothing, and i would of happily moved my car but she made sure she did it when i wasnt around so i couldnt yell at her

because she cares less about cars she thinks it ok to do whatever and she thinks that it isnt a big deal. even though if i put a scratch in her wood table she would act like a killed someone

Detail shop will vary in price, expect to pay easily a couple hundred dependent on severity of paint on paint. I have had paint overspray on my brothers car, mom's suv and buddys car, all came out with my claybar. I say try it again before you go to detail shops.

yea I tried it like an hour ago did my hood then waxed it and i could see the specs clear as day. I thought it was pollen until i realized it never came off. and friend took a look and saw how noticeable it was. but i could just suk at claying because i can never even get water spots off when i clay.

I know, but shes only a jackass small part of the time =D

And yes I still live my parents. going back to school so i have 2 more years

I refer to that stuff as silly putty and do not waste my time using. Many do and like it, great for them.

Get yourself a rag and pour some lacquer thinner on to it and go to work. This method will remove paintoverspray. I've used it countless times to remove fresh overspray as well as dried up paint.

And be nice to your Mom as Moms are the best!

Wash with dish soap before you clay, it will remove some of the built up wax you have on there. You might not have gotten through all the built up wax and have a few layers over the spray paint.

Yeah do this and really "work the claybar in" when you use it. If that really doesn't work... It probably needs to be compounded, cleaned, and polished. I would have a professional do this though, compounding can be really tricky.

are Moms jackasses or sadists?

Most aren't.
But some are.

for all of you holding a candle to dear ol' Mom...remember the times you had a hangover and she vacuumed on purpose, making sure you learned your lesson? mine had a PhD in Yelling & Vacuuming after a nite out, boy. Good times! (laugh)(laugh)(laugh)

to the OP: priorities, man, priorities. what's more important, the nice new shiny red paint on the MS3 or an old wood table? Wait...don't answer that...

yea gonna try the clay again and def need it done professionally , dont trust myself with compound

Ok and when that fails again, refer to my 1st post in your thread. The lacquer thinner will wipe away the overspray. You don't need to wheel the paint to remove your type of over spray. Just wash the car afterwards and wax it when you can.

Won't laquer thinner run the risk of wiping off all the clear? I would use it as last resort on an older car, but not as a first choice on a new MS3.

No. It dries quickly and it will not wipe away clear. I use it as a first resort whenever I am faced with overspray.
