Aluminium Intercooler Pipe Kit - DIY FMIC inside

That sucks man, sorry it happened. Damn... Can't even imagine. I think about the fmic every night before bed. It's pretty sad but I haven't been this excited to have a car part yet

Ducting from stock TMIC

Here's a question for anyone that has put on a FMIC or will be soon.

What are you guys doing with the plastic ducting that is attached to the underneath side of the hood that directs air to the factory TMIC and also the the battery box?

Are you removing it or leaving it there? It really will serve no purpose and seems like a lot of useless plastic to just direct air toward the battery box, right?

I've got a Cobb FMIC that I will be putting on and the install instructions don't mention removing this piece. But I don't see the purpose in keeping it on.

The ducting could at least keep the engine cool.

Ken, How hard is this ducting to remove?

hey ken,

are you going to send the kits in the order that they were paid for?

i think i paid for mine pretty quickly... ;)

Well I saw the m3m kit which is basically the same. It was powdercoated red and chipped in a few places from hitting the shroud. I would say take it off. Unless you are worried about your battery getting too warm =)

you don't need to remove the full duct work either i should put that out there. removing the intercooler surround itself from the shroud is sufficient.

I can see how the duct work comes out....four bolts and a few clips.

How does the Surround come off? I was looking at it last night and i'm stumped.

it snaps in and pulls out. i watched Cataphract_40 yank it out in a matter of seconds.
