Fords marketing is in full tilt. CHECK OUT

Ya the 03/04 Cobras had independent rear, and its not like those things don't put down the power.

I think the 3rd gen mustangs are some of the worst looking cars on the road. They are horrible, down right offensive. The engineer who designed them should be fired, beaten and shot for making such an icon so ugly. Furthermore it often seems like the third gens are driven by some of the biggest assholes as well.

That's funny. I love Foxbodies. Had a 89 LX 5.0 w/mods, badass car, far more badass than any Mazdaspeed, and I own two Mazdaspeeds, and love Mazdas in general. But let's not kid ourselves here, foxbodies are light, make crazy tq, and with a few mods are ridiculously fast.

Anyhow, the current gen is a nice looking car. I don't know much about their performance. It will be nice to have a car that performs as good as it looks.

I think the Fox bodies are probably the last true muscle car, and while they did have a few less attractive years (79-86, though the SVOs were sweet) I wouldn't call them ugly. Its definitely not the worst looking car around.

I've actually got a Foxbody sitting next to my MSP in the garage...

not mine, but it's nice to look at.

...ick. I always thought they looked like econoboxes. Like they were just a mocked up version of the tempo or escort. They always looked kind of cheap to me too. Not saying they weren't fast, just not aesthetically pleasing. But then again there are a lot of things from that era that were not aesthetically pleasing.

low offset wheels look good on a mustang.

Not disputing that, Mustangs are among the only Ford vehicles I like... I'm just not seeing a connection with it giving an Import feel. It's a Mustang and any Mustang doesn't take you back to the 60's Mustangs, is fail.

Though there is that Gen of Mustang which we do not speak of. (squinty)

b/c i was talking about the the 2010 having an import feeling to it. not the one he posted. he was just showing how good they look with a good offset.

look at vids part 2 and 3.

i think what 240 meant was the 05 looked very retro. while the new Mustang does not have as much of a retro feel as the last generation.

also there is an import style. id say a Mustang with a carbon hood and trunk, a mild lip kit, dropped with some low offset wheels. would be my idea of giving it an import feel. hell even throw some Bride seats in there.

I saw a test drive of the 2010 on Speed channel. I did notice some changes from the 05(which I do not like) as they look like the 60s era stangs. I like the looks and would seriously consider adding another Stang to my stable. Give me the solid axle over the IRS any day. As for grip there is nothing that cannot be improved with an order from MaximumMotorsports.

You guys in this thread are... (smash) (hand) (stfu) (hah) (lol) (uhm) (hahaspit) (screwy) (screwy) (screwy)

"almost skyline'ish"
"the design is way too busy and confusing."
"the New Stang with the import feel"
"put some crazy low offset Works on there to give it the import feel."
"starts looks like it has a tad of skyline in its blood"

it looks closer to the "original" mustang then the 06s did because it doesnt look as fat IMO.
there is nothing "import" about it
it does not look like it has skyline in it...

i like the refresh alot, and think it looks much better then the 06-09 models

i think the 05-09 look the best, just shows looks are objective.

yeah, i used to like the 05-09 the best as well as the 93 FB's and terminators but the 2010 has taken that spot. but im with you Nismo and SB

im still a fan of the foxbody. my mom has a 93 LX but no 5.0 sitting in the garage sitting there ready for a V8

but i still remember the statetroopers riding in FB 5.0's.

asked wife if she wanted another mustang (she loved her notchback LX 5.0 5spd)... we thought about it, and i like the way they look alot.... but they wanted a bit more, and it just didn't have the feel i was looking for. i would have had to mod the crap out of it, to make it suit me....i've had enough RWD front V8 stuff, and wanted something different...

i think to compare the new pony (there ya go) to an import like ours is an apples to oranges thing. i can see a bit of edge in the design, but all car companies are doing these things, and it is good... i guess i still notice to much of the old retro cues to think import... this generation mustang is one of the nicest looking ones, to me...

what i do like about the mustang... no end of choices for any modification you could ever dream of.... massive aftermarket support... huge fan base..... lotsa info on how to make one fast, and they can be VERY fast. they are always fun to modify, and fun cars to drive... i feel more at home in that platform... FWD performance takes a bit of getting used to... :)

and man, they sound so nice with a good exhaust.... i've owned a few chevrolet mustang killers, but i've never heard cars sound as sweet as a mustang with the old borla system....

This vid was cool I actually was at YZ circuit(vid chapter 3 w/DK) less than a month ago, and I got to go for a ride with Tetsuya Hibino, a pro D1 driver. I wish we had small courses like that to play around on where pro's just show up regularly. As for cars I'll stick with light weight imports. If you would have seen what some of the guys there were doing with lightly modded ae86's, s13's, and even te70 corollas you'd really appreciate how driver skill trumps power. But thats my 2 cents.

There's no reason to descriminate. I currently own an AE86, and have owned Camaros, Mustangs, etc. You're not thinking into it enough. What if you couple that same driver skill with a muscle car with lot's of power?

Look at Formula D.
