Yesterday I had two Kumho ASX tires put on the rear of my car and the existing rear wheels moved to the front. (I had never rotated my tires and the front were bald. BALD. The rear seem to have about 30% tread left.) Also, allow me to point out here that I am car-tarded. The extent of my automotive knowledge is limited to these 2 facts: 1) even though my Protege5 is stock, it's pretty badass 2) I can't beat a Ferrari. Or a Hyundai. Anyway, back to my point. So the rear tires are new, the front tires were originally on the rear of my car...and now it shakes at highway speeds. I hypothesize that since I never rotated my tires that they wore unevenly and now, moving them to the front with uneven wear patterns, is the cause of my shaking. I fully intend to replace the front tires in about 2 weeks when I get paid again and hope that solves the shake problem.
Additionally, I was suckered into the Kumho ASX as a last resort. The tires I had originally ordered, which would have been my 2nd set, were Federal 535. (and then there was some ordering details confustion and I got Kumhos) In short, those tires were unfuckingbelievable and so much cheaper. ($50/ea.) They rode so well, gripped amazingly and had some killer handling. Hopefully, once I have 4 Kumho's on my car, I will be satisfied with their performance...especially considering they are $40 more per tire. (hi)
