What have you done to your P5 today?

Coming from Ohio...it is getting shipped...

Also loving the Circuit City closing right now...Pioneer AVIC-F500BT GPS Unit...Regular cost: $600...Sale cost: $150...

How can you love 35,000 people losing their jobs? I mean that's a good deal and all, but have a little compassion. /rant (sorry I worked @ ccity for 4.5 years and just found a new job)

I work 80 hours a week and don't have a garage. This was my first Sunday off in months. I get 1 day off from both jobs every other month and with delivering I usually don't want to look at my car those days

whackin it doesnt count as work!

Not anything about the people there, but businesses do fail in time...most places won't be here forever...like I said there is nothing against you or anyone that worked there, but them closing allows me to get great deals on items I would of not originally bought, so it works out for the better in my favor just as a few other places that went out of business worked in the same way...

Of course. I just really hate the "vultures" that only showed up when the closing sale signs were put up. Thanks for the explanation.

I got a couple good deals from my store because of this too lol. 42" samsung plasma for $250 FTW

man i know what you mean about the vultures. i was working in a store that was closing down (just to move into another larger building, not closing all together), and i saw so many ppl that have never even been in there before. and theyre the type of ppl who couldve saved a business if they had taken a bit more interest in buying before they put the signs up.

anyway, back on topic. i admired my car sitting in the garage today as i decided to skip my classes (thumb)

i also checked the tracking of my coilovers a few million times, and now im at home waiting for the fog light i bought. it should be delivered today, then ill put it on to replace my broken one.

grounding kit on. makes the engine look messy now..also picked up a midevil front mm

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I missed you all. I've been basically doing absolutely nothing to the P5 for the past 6 months because of school but I can't wait till spring break just so I can get my hands on it again. Either way, I just wanted to pop in and say hi since I haven't been on in a really long time.

where the hell you been?

School has been kicking my ass. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I can't wait to get out of school and start working my 40 hrs a week. I'm pulling double that easily some weeks with my major. And I hate this damn Ohio weather. I just can't wait till break so I can pop the summer wheels back on, wash the car and thoroughly wax it. How you been Dam?

been alright.as everyone on the forum knows, i've been looking to sell my turbo kit, but i can't find a god damn person to buy it... it's totally lame. but otherwise, doing well.

Yea man, I'm sure you know it's probably gonna be real hard to find someone especially with all this crap going on right now with the economy. Either way, best of luck man. I'll hopefully be on a little more now from time to time but now it's time for bed.

Rotate Tires and now shaking

Yesterday I had two Kumho ASX tires put on the rear of my car and the existing rear wheels moved to the front. (I had never rotated my tires and the front were bald. BALD. The rear seem to have about 30% tread left.) Also, allow me to point out here that I am car-tarded. The extent of my automotive knowledge is limited to these 2 facts: 1) even though my Protege5 is stock, it's pretty badass 2) I can't beat a Ferrari. Or a Hyundai. Anyway, back to my point. So the rear tires are new, the front tires were originally on the rear of my car...and now it shakes at highway speeds. I hypothesize that since I never rotated my tires that they wore unevenly and now, moving them to the front with uneven wear patterns, is the cause of my shaking. I fully intend to replace the front tires in about 2 weeks when I get paid again and hope that solves the shake problem.
Additionally, I was suckered into the Kumho ASX as a last resort. The tires I had originally ordered, which would have been my 2nd set, were Federal 535. (and then there was some ordering details confusion and I ended up with the Kumhos) In short, those tires were unfuckingbelievable and so much cheaper. ($50/ea.) They rode so well, gripped amazingly and had some killer handling. Hopefully, once I have 4 Kumho's on my car, I will be satisfied with their performance...especially considering they are $40 more per tire. (hi)

Could be a balance or alignment issue. I suggest you get an alignment soon after getting the two new tires on the front.

Might seem like a silly question but are the tires you moved to the front directional and how did you rotate them (same side or PR to DF)?

Well, I believe they did balance them (or maybe just the new ones on the back). It was done at Discount Tire. And to be honest, I have no clue how they moved the rear ones to the front. I guess I should put new tires on the front ASAP and make sure I get an alignment like you said.
I believe the following is a great site for tires. It will open to the stock sizes 195/50/16. The prices are pretty hard to beat and shipping is pretty cheap.

If rotation was done at DT then I am sure they did it accordingly. Only reason I asked is if you had done it yourself and not realized the tires were directional, that could cause bad things. And I am sure they balanced the new tires and more than likely not the front ones. Most places will charge extra for that so you could check your receipt to confirm.

I almost bought tires from that place but they never returned my call. How has communication with you been? Those are good prices...I may just have to get some SPT's. (yes)
