Installed HID Fogs...

those look sick, but man they dont look like 3000K yellow, looks more like 6000K and they almost match the headlight in the first night shot. You should tell the seller to send the right color.

Looks like they reflect a tiny bit of yellow on the grounf but dont looks like 3000K yellow. Nonetheless great job on the install!

Yea they look yellow on the ground but the shot showing the car they look white. maybe its just the camera?

Either way awesome job! I really need to do this. I am going to get the 3000k as well.

Anyone think the fog overlays would melt with HIDs down there?

HIDs don't get as hot as halogens. You should be fine

Thanks, I like the look of the yellow lens so I want to keep it on there, even with the 3000k hid. Hopefully I can get some soon and have a day thats not snowing or -5*

Victory!

NOTE TO ALL!

Element's Jumper wire method DOES WORK on Speed3 Sports with factory halogens. Just tested it with a length of 16 gauge speaker wire. Need to get some spades to finalize it, but it works.

What kit did you end up buying?

On the Sport:

Does this mod "hardwire" the lights to be ON whenever the key is in the "ON" position the way it does on the GTs?

I just want independent control (meaning that I can turn them ON or OFF) of the fogs without having the HIDs on, but alas this isn't what happens with this jumper method...

hold up is this true? I want them on when the key is on. Will this make it so you can't turn them on and off without the headlights being on?

Isn't that they way they are configured now? I believe it should make it so you can turn them on without having to turn on the headlights.

I would like them to stay on without having to turn the headlights on. But still have control over the switch to allow them to turn on or off without having the headlights on. Basically, this mod keeps them on, BUT can you still turn them off or will they ALWAYS stay on?

Well damn that sucks! so if I got 3k hid fog lights, they won't look yellow? See I love the yellow fog light look like on the IS300s. Is there anyway to capture this other than putting the yellow fog light covers on (I had these on before and was not a fan).

When I tried this mod, it made the fogs come on when the key was in the ON position, but there was no way to turn them on or off independently (the foglight switch on the instrument stalk no longer did anything). When you take the key out, they stay on for about 5-10 seconds and then they shut off, but there is no way to turn them off without taking the key out of the ignition (at least this was MY experience).

hmmm that sucks, I wonder if going through the hassle of the other way results in the same thing?

cool cool. I'll probably just gio ahead and do the mod. I wont mind them staying on during the daytime. More of a looks mod it seems to me which is fine.

I want to do this "fog light always on mod" (in my GT), but I'm not sure what is being done. To me I'm thinking about it as removing a fuse, and replacing it with a hard wire. Shouldn't there be a fuse put in the line so nothing burns up? Or am I being to cautious?

i went with the DDM tuning apexcone 35w 3000k, regular ballast. yea idk what to say about why they are white, but glare yellow. They are deffinatly bright though, no doubt. They cover the 6000K low beam i have were they meet.
