Cp-e Xcel Nano install and review w/ pics n vid

Check out copperkids CPE sri, and we both agree there is still a few bugs that needs to be worked out but over all not a bad piece, but damn that thing gets HOOOOOOOT!! so watch out don't just grab it after you've been driving the car around, you will get a nasty surprise, since it's made from the BEST heat conductor in the entire universe! ALUMINUM!! need I say more.

I'm not an expert, but I found this on AEM site. I must admit that I was worried too, but it's a pretty short piece of metal in this case.

Quote from AEM;
Whether or not an inlet system is made from aluminum, steel, or plastic, the thermal conductivity of the duct material has little effect on engine power. We have found that the tuning of the pipe, in addition to providing the coolest inlet air source, are the keys to making useable power.

Basically, the rate at which air travels through the inlet path under open throttle, when one is asking the engine for maximum power, negates the effect of material heat soak, regardless of the material. We hope that this helps to clear up the issues of material heat absorption in intake systems.

In some cases, the SRS is preferred over the CAS due to inlet tract length tuning. The power advantage gained by using the correct diameter and length of tube negates the advantage of cooler inlet air in these cases.

Great review....I'm very tempted on driven down to Maryland and getting me one, but just order my nittos last night an tryin to save for the holidays...I think a self Christmas present for my baby is on the list!!!!

The Injen CAI I had on my Si was way too hot to touch after driving too. Intake temperature for the Si with a CAI is about 115F vs stock which is 125F. I've read somewhere that the intake temp for the MS3 is 93 degrees.

Temps should even out to ambient (can't get cooler than that) at about 25-30 mph. If you're concerned about inlet temps below that speed, get an SRI.

The temp of SRI itself (or CAI) is irrelevent given its' tiny mass in contrast to the huge mass of air moving through it. Someone who is better at physics could very easily demonstrate this. I took Physics for Poets, myself, so I get the concepts but not so much the math.

Don't need it, it's just a "Sock" that you put over the stock filter to keep large things like leafs off it, mainly VERY useful in Cold Air systems, not short ram.

Actually it makes a superb hairnet...so there is always that

Got mine today.. install took roughly an hour (i'm kinda new to the whole car modding thing, so that's a good thing it only took that long even for me).. I got one quick drive in before it started raining =(.. but the initial impressions...

WOW

Sounds amazing, butt dyno is definitely improved, only problem is I seem to be getting a little more wheel hop than normal.. Next step.. motor mounts.. It's a never ending chain I tell you every mod makes you want another to compliment it..

Has anyone else gotten theirs from SU?
I received my Nano today and installed it. It is awesome. The sound is like a VTA BOV with a Hoover on steroids. It took a little over an hour to install and required several extra minor adjustments. It feels like there's a bit more power, that is definitely noticeable. The throttle response is improved too. I recommend the Nano as a 'Must Have' mod.(2thumbs)

lol my mileage is gonna start sucking starting today xD, lost 10% within a 10 minute spirited drive rofl damn you nano for sounding so awesome

must say the nano is an excellent purchase. i noticed much quick pulls and the sound is simply AMAZING install took about 45-60 min but it was worth it for sure. such a clean instal and great looking intake. im truely impressed

Got mine in tonight, peace of cake install. Sounds amazing!
