aftermarket turbo on ms3

i have the dreaded turbo seal issue, but already have the TBE, CAI and CC on the car, so i am not going to take it all off to go to a dealer, i am just going to swap it out with another one.... i dont want to make anymore power than i have, just a new turbo. can anyone reccomend a good turbo that will bolt on and supply the same power.... im not looking for a increase, just a better turbo.

if you're really watchful you can score an OEM turbo on ebay for $82 shipped. Thats what I did, the guy didn't know what car it was from, so he didn't even list it right! (upbum) heh heh heh.

you may want to try the mod that limits oil pressure to the turbo. A new oem turbo becomes an old oem turbo after a while, and there is no direct bolt-on ball bearing turbo that is the same size as the K04. I've heard of guys running TBE's with the oil mod and have corrected the smoking issue.

Ha you probably beat me on it. I find them on there but stop bidding if it gets close to $100. Don't really need one so it's just for fun and back up

Keep in mind, going with any turbo other than an oem turbo is going to require a tune.

Even going with the reworked K04 turbo would likely require a tune as the turbo spool times and flows will be different.

Reworked K04 is the way to go if you're just looking for a mild bump in power while retaining the good qualities of the K04 (spool up time... that's about it... haha).

Do you really need a new turbo? I'm in the same boat as the OP and am tired of waiting for Mazda to come out with a revised PCV valve. I was going to install a catch can to keep oil from being pushed through the turbo seal.
