Losing my ms3, What should I get?

Thanks. I thought oil starvation was the biggest issue. Either way, they're seems to be A LOT of people selling their Spec V's. Not a good sign. If you can find one with a updated swapped motor, I think that solves a lot of the issues. Once again though, I'll let someone with qr25 experience tell the facts.

Oil starvation is but one symptom of devouring the pre-cat (along with scored cylinder walls, bent rods, etc.). You know what's Nissan official response was? Limiting pre-cat recalls to a very small VIN range (even though every single QR25DE Sentra and Altima are equally vulnerable) and having not one but TWO pre-cats in the '07+ B16 Sentra.

To be fair, everything that went wrong with my Spec V was of my own doing. But with 42k miles, no b2b and my powertrain rapidly approaching, I decided to ditch it. I wasn't feeling like sacrificing an entire weekend with the engine's guts over the garage floor while I replace the head gasket.

nah, speed 3 has its own set of problems....Jared is just bitter towards his MSP lol :p

the MSP had its own quirks...toothpick rods, bad tune, LSD can go at times...etc etc...
I don't follow the protege much, but do they have alot of issues? Is that something I should be worried about my speed3?

honestly, you'd be smarter getting something simple....with any used turbo car you're running the risk of "extra" things dying on you (ie: the turbo). If I was giving up my MSP I'd sure as heck have some fun with it first if you catch my meaning. With no credit, just moving out, and not much money I'd get something simple and reliable that'll last until you get more stable. Life's an expensive world outside of the parents house, especially just starting out, so it'd be smarter to get something that will allow you to not stress when an unforeseen expense comes up. I'd look at the "standards" in $ friendly cars:

Camry/corolla
Accord/civic
etc, etc......

After a few years you can always upgrade to something faster/nicer.

I'd be wary of buying any used Mazdaspeed...I always assume that they were driven hard. And like some people said, going simple is better.

Play it safe, buy a used Corolla or Civic, and later on when you do have the money for a car, you can get something you really want.

I don't know how much you make or what your bills are but I'm going to assume your not rolling around in extra money.

I myself bought a used msp right after I turned 20. I was living on my own with a good job ect ect. Now a year and a half latter, different job, moved twice and I'm hating my car payment and higher insurance that comes along with it. I wish I had keep my old 92 civic that was payed for that cost nothing to insure.

Your situation might be different but I would listen to what most of the other members are saying and just buy a cheap beater. That will give you some time to build up some credit and save some money to buy whatever type of car you may want down the road. Good luck in what ever you end up doing.

Good point about the insurance!

Yes I feel that is often overlooked when buying a car. It has been 2 plus years since I have got quotes for myself but that is the main reason I'm not driving a WRX right now. The insurance on those were nuts. Also keep in mind if you are going to have a lien on your car that you will most likely need a certain amount of full coverage.

If you have a beater you can get liability insurance and call it a day. That is if you own it yourself and have the title.

let me play devils advocate f it all nissan GTR-35 or chevy ZR-1 granted youll be paying it off for the rest of your life, youll have to live in it, that wont do good things to the leather. and you might kill yourself with all the power. but in the end you live life with one big smile on your face.

till the payments come in.
