5,000 To Spend :):)

Aww man, I don't read post time stamps. Especially on threads that are up at the top of the forum like they are all active and new and s***.

WE ARE BOTH TOOLS (but less so than sp3edster).

Honestly man I would have off on the full bolts ons for one reason...management. There is No Real good engine management for the MS3 as of yet. People have had success with different systems but I would let people do some more testing with them before jumping into it yourself. I would spend some money one coilovers and sway bars first. Check out importimageonline.com for a BC coilover set with sways, and get the rear camber plates. Then pickup a cobb short throw with some bushings to help with shifting, a cobb SRI, and hold the rest of the money until a management system really comes out, and stands above the rest. Then I would pick up the full turbo back exhaust, FMIC, boost controller, and a upgraded BPV. This way you can tune the car for those mods to keep the car reliable.

what he said, suspension and wait for a good EMS

yep, if you start with a good engine management, there is no limit to what you can add. i, personally, recommend a stand-alone like haltech. a piggy-back will just intercept the message and change it, meaning that the motor and ecu will "talk" over the piggy-back. a stand-alone will eliminate that and just make a new ecu all together. that makes tuning a whole lot easier.

im pretty sure the haltech doesn't work because no one has even used it on the ms3, and I haven't even heard any mention it with the ms3

universal means that it fits anything. there just aren't people tuning them yet. it is a lot of work to tune a haltech without existing software, so there probably isn't anyone messing with it yet. there are plenty of people that can tune it, but it gets expensive.

yeah. like 5 thousand dollars expensive...lmao

take almost the whole $5000 and get a set of O.Z Botticelli III's 19". the car will look so sweet, you will want to drive it SLOOOOW!

Hello fellow mazda owners. I have 5 grand to dump into my bone stock speed 3. Here is what im thinking for now:

FMIC (Corksport or Cobb) Is there a big difference?
Cobb SRI
BOV
Full Turboback Exhaust (Corksport)
Turbo Timer

Anything else or other recommendations on my choices?

I appreciate it (nana)

if you have a loan, 5g toward that would be the smartest thing

If its a daily driver, you want to look ahead, think about what you need soon (TIRES!!!!) and what you want it to be. If you want it to be loud and fast, catless tbe, but if you want it tolerable as a dd (and still almost as fast), downpipe and midpipe. intake for sure, bov/bpv at your preference. If you have that much cash burning a hole in your pocket, get it tuned. go standback, or simply a cobb ap. whatever. just some ideas.

how come i cant run a injen cia with a corksport fmic? i read somewhere you can't. can you run a fmic off an injen? or get a better intake?

You can't run the Injen CAI because the way the piping is ran on the CSFMIC, it'll interfere with the intake. CP-e's FMIC will work with any CAI because the way it was designed. When installed, it sits off centered a bit; hardly noticable.. at least to me. Check it out at their webpage, the site will go into more detail as to why their system allows you to use different CAI systems instead of just one.

I plan on going that route because there is no way in hell I'm spending more green backs on another intake system...lol

By the way, how are things coming along with your upgrades?

What have you decided to go with after all?
