I've got two Audiobahn 10" subs (2 x 300W RMS, 600W peak) in the trunk that were previously powered by an MTX 311d. I had Car Toys install it then stupidly raced my car without labeling the hookups before taking it apart (actually a friend took the stuff out of my trunk). Long story short, I hooked it up backwards (don't know the details, that's just what I was told) which then caused my car battery to die if I didn't drive it for 24 hours. Took it to Mazda who fixed the problem I believe by killing my amp. So I just ordered a Kenwood KAC-8104D to replace the dead 311d.
My question is, can I use my still-working stock amp and hook it up to the speakers to give them a little extra power while using the other amp to power the subs? As you can probably ascertain, I will not be doing these installs myself. I figure I will take it to Best Buy or back to Car Toys (or if anyone has recommendations, I'm open to anything). With the bass cranked up, it's almost hard to even hear the speakers, so I'd like to give them a little more power and figure I might as well use the stereo amp I have sitting around.
