Possible Boost Leak?

Alright, so I just put in a prosport premium boost gauge...install was straight forward and easy.

Problem is, when I went out to test it...in 3rd 4th and 5th year...boost settles at 15 psi. Spike goes up to about 17 sometimes 18...then settles.

2nd gear holds at around 14 psi.

My concern is with my mods...I should be getting more then the stock 15psi of boost...I got Cobb SRI and Corksport racepipe. Hell the instructions for the racepipe even said you will gain 2-3psi. Shouldnt I be somewhere in the 17-18 range? Spiking closer to 20?

My other concern is that 2nd gear is getting about 14 psi...when the stock is lower (isnt it like 11?). So my 2nd gear is gettin to a higher psi, but 3rd 4th 5th isnt.

My hunch is my stock BPV is leaking when it starts to get above 15 psi...what do you all think? I was thinking to upgrade to a turbosmart in another month...so I am thinking this upgrade is more important then I thought before.

What do you all think?

Your BPV may be leaking. With a K&N drop in and Forge BPV I am seeing the same numbers you are.

Remember there is boost limiting in 1st, 2nd gear.

ya you should pry get a new BOV sounds like the stocker is leaking. i hold about 16psi in 4,5, & 6. and my only power mods are CAI and HKS BOV.

I'm getting the same boost hold with Cobb SRI and Forge BPV. Spikes into the high 19s and sometimes even 20, then settles at about 15.96psi.

when are you guys spinking and settling???? is this at full throttle that you are referring to, like on the freeway? SO if you floor it and before shifting it doesn;t reach at least 16psi then you have a leak? Thats what I am trying to understand
