And got the roof grooves filled in and ready to be sanded and painted:

I'd suggest you'll see stress cracks along those "grooves" in no time.

Probably but no going back now. I will just have to re-sand when it does crack. I might just primer it and just let it settle and harden more before I repaint. We will see. Will be doing all the sanding on my front bumper and these grooves tonight.

wow, you're really making good progress there Danny! Coming along nicely. Racing Harts should look sick! Can't wait to see it.

Wheels are being dropped off to be powdercoated tomorrow. Doing more sanding on the front bumper and roof tonight. MAN I HATE SANDING!

Dropped the wheels off last tuesday to get powdercoated! Cant wait to see how they turn out. Gloss black powdercoating with a few areas taped off. Should look pretty rad with the black extended lugs

Um.... Own bodywork = Epic fail...

Not if you know what your doing. You are pretty limited what you can do if you don't try, that is how you learn. Through trial and error I have gotten pretty good at body work. I used to have a tennis ball size hole in my bumper that I fixed my self and everyone I show cant even tell there has been work there. It amazes me how so many people are so afraid to do body work, its not rocket science.

So to give you guys an update. The wheels are still at the powdercoating shop. I got my Buddy Club 2 sideskirts. I almost have my front bumper cover re-painted. I also have done more work on deleting roof grooves, almost ready to repaint there. So lots of picks will be coming in about a week or two when everything gets painted and installed.

you should have just used the bondo/body filler to fill in the roof ridges and then fiberglassed on top of that so you wont have any stress cracks,

or at least if you do they will be easier to fix

Hmm... That is a good idea. But I am almost done with them though so that won't work at this point. Thanks though

UPDATE:

My wheels are ready to be picked up from the powdercoater. Got new Buddy Club 2 sideskirts. Will be painting sidskirts, front bumper cover, roof, and possibly doors to get rid of those horrid flames once and for all in the next week or so. Stay tuned for some rad pics!

At this point why not have a professional painter redo the whole car after all the body work.

Thats what im doing right now as we speak :D too bad i cant show you my thread on it, its at the "other" forum..My hatch is de badged also, i might steal that cool little mazdaspeed idea you did...Looks good man, about time those flames went!

Well post some pics up here. Thanks for the compliment. Yah it is long overdue for the flames to be gone. I have been doing some research to find something that would disolve the flame paint but no luck. So it looks like I am going to have to sand them off and repaint. I picked up a paint gun today and the paint this week. I already have all other paint equipement I need. I will be repainting both bumpers, and sideskirts this weekend. So once I get the money I will be repainting the car my self with a two tone paint job.

And someone stole my protege5 badge, how gay is that? oh well, no badges needed any more :D

Wow! Good plans. I powdercoated my Racing Harts a gloss black as well but I taped off a couple areas, should look rad. They are still waiting at the shop for me to pick up. Could you post up a pic of yours? You should start a build thread on this forum.

Sweet! On mine I taped off the inside ledges between the spokes to get a chrome lip style to it. Good idea on painting the lettering HZ yellow. I was thinking about doing something like that. Thanks for the pic.
