Sure. Why shouldn't we? Give me some sort of valid reason or photo why we, the owners of such crafted automobiles, should be scared to drive our cars out at all. ONE reason. I bet you've got nothing.

edit: you think Mazda is bad, check out the Smart Car crash test vids... enjoi those.

do you guys feel safe driving these cars?...

Ok, I can go on the internet and find similar picture of ANY car that look like that. Without knowing the story why shouldn't I feel safe? There's a big difference between taking that kind of damage going 80 and wrapping the car around a tree and going over a speed bump too fast. I'm guessing most of those are the first case. Having been on the boards a while I've heard many stories/seen many pics where I thought the car would come out much worse than it did. I feel just fine driving my mazda.

No no no, the car "sux" unless it can fly off a cliff and not get smashed. Those pics just show bashed up cars. I was actually thinking that I was impressed with how the main cabin look intact on a few of the photos...even though the rest of the car looked shredded.

I am not sure if I agree that Mazda designed the cars to lose the engine in case of an accident. If that's the case, what about Ferrari? That dumbass who stole and then crashed that Enzo had the same thing happen. He hits a phone poll and the engine just pops out and keeps on going down the road. Man, now that's a badass engine.

Normally, I don't respond to posts like that but it's so beyond any concept of reality that I have to post...Every car...no matter the price looks like a pile of "cheap and crappy" junk after being totaled in an accident...which makes me wonder how you came to the conclusion that Mazdas are somehow "cheap and crappy" compared to...everything else?

Modern cars are designed to break into smaller pieces...they are designed with plastic and lightweight materials to save weight (taken up by all this damn safety equipment) and with crumple zones to take the impact so the passengers have a chance to survive....all this makes the modern totaled car look much worse than it would have years ago when most cars were built like tanks.

Unless I'm mistaken...Mazda has good to great safety ratings on all its models and the quality is damn good for the price...plus there are tons of Members in this community that are still happy with their 100,000+ mile Mazda.

So let me ask you again...how did you came to the conclusion that Mazdas are somehow "cheap and crappy"...at the salvage yard?

my class mates tell me and argue with me that mazda sucks , i tell them no they dont , just cause some mechanic tell you they suck ( were going to school to become techs ) doesnt mean they suck , remmeber what happend with acura and there trannys , what about with tech with honda , mazda has come a long way the past few years

I'm sorry, color me ignorant but since when have Mazdas "sucked"? Every car company goes through some times when they aren't as good as they'd like to be, but I don't think Mazda has ever been considered a car company that "sucked".

mazdas dont suck, i just asked if you guys feel safe driving these cars. thats all, mazdas are good cars, but i wouldnt say great cars..sorry just my opinion..

Ask the member who ran his MS3 into the wall at a race track at 130 mph because he didn't check his brakes at a track day. He might disagree with you as he walked away from the accident unscathed. His MS3 however didn't. But it did do the job that it was supposed to...that is keep him alive and in one piece.

Yeah. I totally love my Mazda. I recall someone on here saying they hit a puddle, hydroplaned at a high speed on the interstate, and hit the wall. No injuries, totalled car.

Good point about not knowing the circumstances on the wrecks in question.

i agree with kick , iv told them that mazda is a very good company , they like hondas but there not ricy about it there in terms of simplicity , and i admit it , honda is very good ,but iv told them , look honda has had more recalls then mazda has ever had , and mazda might not be up to par with honda but when it comes down to it , its all about the owner , and the type of car , a honda civic will put up with a lot but wont put up with it being pushed to hard , but a mazda 3 will probably handle harsh turning a bit better just beucase its that kind of sport car , rain , is this the guy you were tlakint about ??
