Thanks! :)

woo woo bout time I got something notable done.
The engine bay is painted. I can move on to finishing the rest of the car with the HVLP gun instead of a rattle can.

chemical stripper is seeming to be much superior to abrasive blasting. Hoping to have most of the exterior stripped by end of this weekend.

it makes cool hissing noises:

That RX3 looks like a seriously fun project. Always liked the lines of those cars, so cool.

For me, over the winter I finally took care of my bad coolant seal with a fairly comprehensive rebuild (my first). All new hard and soft seals, gaskets, bearings, injectors cleaned and flow-tested, complete emissions delete and vacuum simplification with silicone hoses, new check valves, Noltec motor mounts, Garfinkle oil pan brace.....even new housings. Plus a little polishing.
Before

Misc. "stuff"

Had to temporarily re-install the airpump since I don't yet have the needed idler pulley to delete it, but no other major issues.

Breaking in the motor now, idle vacuum continues to improve and I'm dialing in the PFC. Hope to make my first Auto-X later this month.

I did a big no no yesterday. I started my 7 up and moved it out of my shop and turned it off real quick. I was working in my shop all day, and about 5pm me and my wife were going to go to the store, went out to start it, nothing.

I knew it was flooded, took out the plugs, dripping with gas...

Took out the EGI fuse and cranked it over for a bit, put plugs back in and fuse and it fired up, blew out some smoke too.

So don't ever do that, I knew about that rule, guess I was not thinking, bleh.

got some ground control coilovers w/tokiko blues today... couple days ago we got the heim-jointed endlinks and racingbeat muffler to complete the single-out exhaust for our FC racecar.

This weekend will be busy when we install said parts, along with continuing to strip paint from the RX-3 (only have the doors and roof/a-pillars to finish stripping now tho)

The following weekend we have a race in the FC, and then actual restoration/metalworkings on the RX-3 shall begin.

got the coilovers installed on the RX-7... 440lb springs up front, 350 lb springs in the rear, and got it on the longacre scales to tune the crossweight...

weights are at 1270lbs left (51.0%), 1196lbs rear (48.0%), and 1246lbs crossweight (50.0%) (total car weight 2492lbs sans driver -- still got a lot of weight to lose...)

took it out for a spin around the neighborhood... handles like its on rails compared to before, and its soooo much flatter when cornering... thinking we may need to get some better seats to help hold us in while driving now ehe... hoping to get the exhaust done today, and re-do the cornerweighting... can't wait to put the car thru its paces at next weekends autocross :D

I took the day off yesterday. The wiring harness is back in and it's ready to accept an engine or get painted. I'm gonna paint it first. Here it is. It looks like a car again.

If you look at that unmolested section of hood where it is shiny. That is the color but instead of my original planned roll on method I bought a HVLP gun from Harbor Freight and spray on the rustoleum.
