i have a obd2 to usb connector and curious if you could tell me a couple of pids. what is the pid for the boost?
I've seen up to 1600 when WOT up a long hill LOL!!! Thats damn hot! I don't quite get it cuz it definitely shouldn't be that hot in the combustion chamber.
Cat temp/EGT is not measured by the ECU.
Huh? It sure seems to be. The Dashhawk can read Cat Temp from the ECU so the ECU must be measuring it. Its normally anywhere from 1200F to 1600F.
The ECU has no way to measure it. It is an inferred value.
Try this:
After normal driving, note the temperature reading before shutting off your car.
After shutting off your car, start it again a few seconds later and note the new temperature reading.
The DashHawk will give you the same reading as any other scan tool.
yes it does
There's no pyrometer in the cat then? What is it inferring it from? Rear 02 sensor? I'll give your test a try. I assume its going to read a temp far below what it should be since the ECU reset but obviously the cat didn't cool down very much.
Why would anyone prefer the Dash Hawk to the DashDyno?(yupnope) I have been comparing them and except for the choice of screen colors, the DashDyno seems far superior. What am I missing?

Support is important if it is needed. If the equipment is trouble free and the documentation is good it is less important. Has anyone encountered a lack of support for a Dashdyno? Features like scalable analog inputs, USB GPS antenna compatibility, Google earth position logging as a parameter, logging to an SD card, quick release windshield mount, these seem like huge advantages to me.

Do you want that WBO2 as a digital readout, circular gauge, or plotted on the screen against time?
Not sure about the Mazda specific sensors, but you can display the 2 analog inputs like an oscilloscope.
Did I mention it has a 3 stage green-yellow-red LEDs that may be programmed as an alert or shift light?

how reliable/accurate is the dashhawk?
I love it !!
