Dashhawk needs your help!

the beta is fine bro, it will get you the information on the wideband. Its not like Beta Windows or BIOS's, lol (lol)

lol at this point there is a new beta evey week lol(props to MSD for the support) After they get the car in on monday we should see a bunch more PIDS.

True but perhaps we can see whats going on none the less. I WANT that Vampire though. Ever since ive seen my buddy in his Grand National GNX with the J&S setup, ive always envy'd it.

i see 21.3 vac at idle. Also what are everybody cat temps, cause mine seem to get crazy high, just crusing around they are around 1250-1300, going all out for certain periods of time and really loading the car up in 5th or 6th i saw over 1500

Thanks, but I am not a big fan of Beta updates. I will wait for DashHawk/MSD to finallize version 2.4.

Thanks for the vacuum info. I was seeing pretty much the same.

I think they come up with a new beta about 3 times a day.

Also, beware of the battery drain issue.

60mA is unbelievable. It is 4 times that of the entire vehicle. Someone needs to go back to engineering school.

What is the refresh rate of the display? Is it essentially instant or is it only data once a second? Someone have a video of it in operation?

I see 21.5 vac at idle when she is warm, and i only took a look at the cat temp once and i saw 1235.

Ken is great he really does a great job every day with all the questions, and getting updates out for the DH ASAP. I think it was OXYMORN who responded to my O/P if it was let us know (yippy)

Yeah I have an appointment with Ken in Ft Collins on the 21st. He will have full access to my vehicle as long as he needs it. The EGT add-on looks sweet too!

Yeah, I get that, but there is NO WAY that .3ms can be correct as that would be 3333 samples PER SECOND....

form Ken at MSD said:
The sample rate is nominally about 28 ms per sample but it varies on the car, bus speed, bus load, etc. It's a query response thing, so if the car/ECU is slower in responding, then the sample rate varies ... same thing with if the bus gets busy ... it'll slow down.

so its not .28ms its 28ms depending on load!!!

Yeah, that makes much more sense. 28ms is still plenty fast enough to be a decently accurate gauge. I have a ScangaugeII and it is not fast enough for me. I think it has a reading every .5 second, so the data is very slow.

Let's use this thread to keep some of the Mazda specific info in one place? I think it'll help me keep from losing stuff in the varous threads ...

Status as of 1/21/08:
- We have a car coming here today to test with! Donny from Colorado Springs
- We have a preliminary set of Mazda specific "goodies" to try on the car (including the IAT#2/TMAP and some other good stuff!) Once we hack around a bit, we'll be able to use that as a jumping off point.
- Plans are to have something in Beta 10 next week for everyone to play with. Our goal is to button up v2.4 for production in the next couple weeks, so if testing runs long, we'll include the Mazda stuff as part of the first v2.5 Beta.

Here's what we're testing today (only listing Mazda specific stuff ... really interesting stuff in red):

AFR
Act. Pedal Position
Boost Air Temp Sensor (which I think is the one you folks really want)
Variable Fan DC %
Fuel injection amount per cylinder
Injector Pulse width
#1 Injector Pulse width
Intake manifold runner control
Knock Retard
Rear O2 Fuel trim
Valve timing
Wastegate Solenoid DC %

... and hopefully more as it becomes available!
