Dashhawk needs your help!

oh crap my links dont work, well the first one was to kens post on page 3 of the mazda dashhawk thread on the msd forum. Second link was the 2.3 version software update.

I guess the mV readings are the stock narrow band, the only other O2 sensor i remember had LRV of -128 and URV of +128, i dont know what the units are and when on bar graph it stayed about +/- 50%.

When i scroll down the PID's i get Chrysler specific option, WTH?

You have to install the new version of the software v2.4beta9 IIRC. Then "upgrdade" your DH using the software. You should see the mazda specific stuff right after sensor PIDs.

I thought this was what I did as per kens instructions, Ill double check when I back to the office this afternoon.

look under Fuel then pick AFR#1

Ill check this out too.

I think I must be on the wrong version or something, I hate software.

Cheers.

well i managed to get the mazda specific data after downloading the beta 9 again with a better internet connection. Unfortunately i dont trust the readings and have decided to park the car and drive the Heep until i install a stand alone WB O2 gauge which i know will be accurate.

I know i still have software issues but my confidence in this product has diminished, i think my issues are an isolated case and probably user error.

Heres why -AFR's seem to lean to me.

I do have 1 more question for the wise. Does the AP rewrite the program but leave all the I/O values as is, as apposed to a piggy back which does not change the program but does change the I/O values. Am I right? If so then at DH will tell lies when used with a piggy back.

Something is wrong with your firmware/software. It shouldn't be saying "Supported PIDs 0-32". And you don't need the mazda specific PIDs to log AFR. I would reflash your DH to beta9 following Kens instructions carefully. Then log it again.

These are the values you should be seeing for AFR:
@ Idle or cruise - 14.7:1
@ WOT - about 10:1 to 11:1 in the upper RPM range.
@ zero throttle (when you let up on the gas) - 29:1

Remember, the AFR readings are based on the ECU readings from the stock WB sensor. If you can't trust those readings than how can you trust the ECU to deliver the correct amount of fuel?

Here are a few of my logs to give you an idea of what they should look like.

Yes. A piggy back is fooling the ECU by modifying the sensor values. So since the DH can only read what the ECU reads, it will display the modified readings. The COBB AP should have no effect on the DH. At least thats what I'm hoping ;)

12.0 is what regular fuel injected cars under boost should be running on the street. The DISI is new technology and other cars like the VW/Audi are in the 13s and its considered safe. Still a lot to learn with direct inject.

Those are the same reading that I am seeing. I do see 9.5:1 under heavy accel. once and a while.

i can't see this using the PC interface and i've uploaded the latest stuff. is this something you have to select with the unit installed in the car as opposed to the PC interface??? what i see using the PC interface, at the end of the list, is WB 02 s1 eqiv ratio, wb 02 s2 equiv ratio, etc etc all the way up to s8. i don't see anything specific to Mazda. i have 2.4b9 and i thought i up'ld the mazda .enc.

went in on the dashhawk and set the logging up there. went in the mazda specific stuff and picked actual afr.

no i had to do it with the unit in the car. the mazda specific stuff isnt available to see in the program yet. i think that will be in their next release which is either tomorrow or monday.

but i think you can see your afr too if you select oem wideband #1 afr from on the computer
