Pda Smartphone Ecu Compatibility?

I was wondering...... My Moto Q has basic windows on it and a usb cord that can be ran directly to computer. If I was to purchase an ecu, anybody know if I could save fuel maps on my phone to be transfered to ecu in time of need? Im pretty sure If I install the program on my laptop I can send it to my phone. I do have a 2gb sd memory card in my phone so memory isnt a problem. It would be nice if this would work. Anybody out there technology inclined?

THAT is a crazy question! I imagine that if the phone is compatible with a windows base pc, it could be possible.

Well the problem is, they have to have a PPC compatible program to interface with the ECU Unit. I know on Fords, theres one company called "Sniper" that has a PDA style tuning system. I havent seen CPE or XEDE advertise a PDA add in, which is basically a USB Cable and a PPC Version of the software. In all honesty, it would be slow to make the changes.

I've seen PDA (Palm OS) based tuning "things" in cars before. I'm not sure what can be done with them but it's certainly possible and currently available for other cars.

It honestly wouldn't be worth it. It would be a lot more sluggish then if you just ran the maps on a regular desktop. Motorola Q supports a lot of view only programs. Word, Excel, Acrobat Reader, ect. Unless they made a program specifically for your phone or any windows based PDA then it wouldn't be compatible or worth it.

I do know they make gauge programs for the nintendo ds...... maybe there will be some options available. Im not wanting to tune directly from my phone, just want to store maps from computer to phone for easy access.

It'd be slick, but your phone has a USB connection. Older Palms that could interface with ECUs used RS-232 ports. I suppose it is theoretically possible, but not as easy as an adapter.
