My Dad is looking towards the CX-7

I actually liked the CVT on our murano. It makes everything real smooth. Now I can account for the lack of punch because we are rolling on 22s lol.

It's great if you want smoothness, but it saps all the power.
Sport mode was nice, but the CVT still sapped up the power.
6 Speed Aisin Auto FTW.

This is what you get going from Touring to Grand Touring:

* GT leather-trimmed interior w/ piano-black accents

* Electroluminescent gauges & indirect blue cabin illumination

* Automatic climate control & exterior temperature thermometer

* Xenon HID auto on/off low-beam headlights w/ manual leveling

* Heated body colored side mirrors

But to each his own... some don't want the auto climate control.

I just went to the dealer I bought my sport from yesterday to confirm this. He said you get Auto climate control, ext. temp, HID, heated body colored mirrors, and the leather trimming with piano black accents. But he said he has never even heard of the Electroluminescent gauges & indirect blue cabin illumination being offered on the CX-7. He showed me the gauges in the speed 3 that are EL, but he said those haven't been offered in the 7. Can anyone confirm this? I looked at all the GT's they had there and sure enough they were not equipped with it.

Yes every CX-7 GT has electroluminescent guages and indirect blue lighting.
You can see the difference at night and in daytime. Open the door on a sport model and you can see the guages, open the door on a GT and without starting the car the guages are dark. At night you can change between white and red settings.
Should also be listed as a feature on window sticker of the GT

Yep, Zoom 49 is correct. Gt has a blue glow around dash when headlights are on and the little indirect blue light is on ceiling directly above the shifter.
No white to red though.....red can be put brighter in daylight with push of a button...no white to speak of on dash.

^I have to go to a different dealership then to check this out. NONE of the GTs I looked at had EL gauges or the blue accent lighting. None of them had it listed as an option either, but they were indeed GT stickered. Hmmmmmmm.....

Here's some pics I took last night for someone in a different forum that wanted to see what they looked like.

Sorry for the poor quality but it was with my camera phone.

The first pic shows the gauges just after you open the door. The gauges are blacked out except for the indirect blue lighting.
The second pic is with the car and lights on. Though the blue is more subtle in person than it appears in these photos.

Also part of this is a blue led that shines down on the gear shift and cupholders. If you look at the ceiling just behind the map light, there is a small plastic square with a bump and slit. I don't have a picture of that one.

These are standard on every GT, at least in the US, both 2007 and 2008.

Yep, pics above show the lighting difference from a base to a GT... the base doesn't have those 3 little blue lights in the gauges, nor does it have the blue "spot lamp" that glows from the overhead area.

After seeing these pics... mine will shortly. :) Can't believe my dealership has GT's without this option??? My salesman said he had never even heard of the CX7 coming with these.

You have to understand, car salesman typically know very little actual facts about the car they are selling.

Car salesman are good at reading people. They see the young couple with the baby on the way pull up in the sports car and they talk to the guy about sporty handling and the girl about safety features.

Electroluminescent gauges don't sell cars so salesman don't car about it. My dealer didn't know you could open the windows from the remote. It's little details that don't really help them, so they don't worry about them.
