Jaguar Press Release:

REVEALED - THE ALL-NEW 2009 Jaguar XF

Contemporary design in an all-new Jaguar sedan

IRVINE, Calif. August 28, 2007 Jaguar is proud to announce the all-new 2009 Jaguar XF - a stunning four-door Jaguar that combines the style and performance of a sports car with the refinement, space and sophistication of a luxury sedan.

Scheduled to make its world debut at the 2007 Frankfurt International Motor Show in September, the new 2009 Jaguar XF is a reflection of the bold new design language that Jaguar will be using both now and in the future. "As one of the most visually striking, technically sophisticated and driver-oriented sedan cars that Jaguar has ever produced, the 2009 Jaguar XF clearly demonstrates the forward-looking focus that now defines the Jaguar brand," said Wayne Burgess, 2009 Jaguar XF Senior Design Manager. "With its dramatic styling, powerful flowing lines and a distinctive front, the new 2009 Jaguar XF looks like no other Jaguar . Yet it defines the new design language the company will be adopting for all future models."

The first impression of the new 2009 Jaguar XF is its visual strength. It firmly emphasizes contemporary automotive style whilst maintaining Jaguar's core values. The new 2009 Jaguar XF is sporty, muscular and dynamic -- made evident in its sweeping silhouette that was inspired by the new Jaguar XK sports car. There is a powerful grille, dramatic side window graphics and, of course, strong Jaguar rear haunches. The stance of the 2009 Jaguar XF gives the car a 'ready to pounce' look that suggests latent power and energy.

The contemporary design theme is continued inside the 2009 Jaguar XF with an interior ambience that is enriched by wood, aluminum and leather presented in a very modern way, unlike any other car manufacturer. With its sophisticated instruments and calm interior mood lighting, the 2009 Jaguar XF moves away from traditional styling to a contemporary, sporting luxury theme. This is emphasized by features such as the all-new JaguarDrive Selector TM, JaguarSense TM (an electronic control system that employs motion detecting sensors to activate certain vehicle features), unique phosphor blue interior lighting, and Bowers & Wilkins sound technology.

The new 2009 Jaguar XF will be available in the US with a choice of two engines a 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 and a 4.2-liter supercharged V8. In naturally-aspirated form, the 2009 Jaguar XF develops 300bhp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. The supercharged version uses a highly efficient rotor-type supercharger that develops 420bhp and 408 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines combine effortless performance, unrivalled character, an impeccable pedigree, and have a classic Jaguar blend of power and refinement.

All-new 2009 Jaguar XF At-A-Glance Highlights

- The 2009 Jaguar XF is a four-door Jaguar that combines the style and performance of a sports car with the refinement, space and sophistication of a luxury sedan.

- The exterior styling of the 2009 Jaguar XF is the first result of Jaguar's new design language in a sedan. With interior design that is the equal of the exterior in terms of crafted execution and visual excitement, the XF offers a truly contemporary, luxury environment.

- The coupe-like lines of the 2009 Jaguar XF belie the amount of space inside: there is room for five adults in comfort, generous interior stowage and a trunk capacity of 17.6 cu. ft. (500 liters), plus the opportunity to fold down the rear seats and add a further 14.8 cu. ft. (420 liters).

- Jaguar craftsmanship adopts a sharp new edge on the 2009 Jaguar XF. Sophisticated instrumentation, a touch-screen, modern materials and graphics complement new surprise and delight features. Upon entry to the 2009 Jaguar XF, the start button pulses, like a heartbeat. Start the engine and the JaguarDrive Selector TM rises into the palm of the hand, while rotating vents turn from their flush, 'parked' position to their functional open position.

- Improved torsional stiffness delivers refinement and dynamic performance underpinning the driver-focused yet remarkably comfortable driving experience.

- The 2009 Jaguar XF will be available from launch in the U.S. with two different engines 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 and 4.2-liter supercharged V8 all featuring Jaguar's proven six-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddles for manual gear selection (Jaguar Sequential Shift TM) .

- Key driver aids on the 2009 Jaguar XF include Electronic Brake Assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Anti-lock Braking System, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control and Engine Drag Torque Control. And, for the first time in a Jaguar, Understeer Control Logic which decelerates the car and helps to restore grip to the front wheels when required.

- Three trim levels will be offered in the U.S. market Luxury, Premium Luxury and Supercharged levels.

- The first cars will be delivered to U.S. customers in March 2008.

- Pricing for the North American market will be announced in November 2007.

I'll pass thank you. The design is incoherent and lacks focus. The only new jag I want is one of these:

xkr07.jpg

You know, what it looks like to me is virtually everything I see come from the Aussie divisions of Ford and GM. Considering that Ford owns Jag, I'm thinking this might just be a Ford Falcon in disguise.

"The 2009 XF - brought to you in part by Buick, Volvo, and Subaru"

That thing is fugly and totally doesn't follow any of jag's new design characteristics.

The nicest picture is the 4th one because the car actually looks ballsy.

Honda To Present Accord Tourer Concept In Frankfurt Previews Next Gen Euro Accord & Acura TSX

Honda will be presenting the world debut of an exciting Accord Tourer Concept at the forthcoming 2007 Frankfurt motor show. A press conference will be held on the Honda stand in Hall 5 on the first Press Day, 11th September, between 13.15 and 13.45.

The Accord Tourer Concept will give a strong indication of the design direction of the all-new generation Accord Tourer set to debut in mid-2008 and its wider, lower look signals a more sporty, more emotional styling approach. This will be matched by a range of advanced, low emissions engines and innovative new chassis technology that will deliver exceptional handling without compromising ride comfort.

As well as an extensive selection of models from the passenger car range, the Honda stand will also feature a comprehensive line-up of motorcycles and power equipment products. The stand will focus around the twin themes of "Sports" and "Environment".

The "Environment" area will centre upon Honda's ground-breaking environmental technologies, such as petrol-electrical vehicles. This includes the Small Hybrid Sports Concept first revealed at the Geneva Show which demonstrates a unique fusion of advanced hybrid technology and fun-to-drive sports car characteristics. Alongside it will be Honda's next-generation clean diesel engine, the production Civic Hybrid and the FCX Concept with its fully-functioning fuel cell technology which made its European driving debut at the Gotland Ring in Sweden earlier this year.

The "Sports" area of the stand will include Honda's current F1 racing car, the RA107 piloted by Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, alongside Civic Type R and Honda S2000 production models, There will also be a strong emphasis on the company's motorsport heritage and alongside the latest F1 car will be one of Honda's first, the 1967 RA300.

To emphasise the major contribution made by motorcycles towards Honda's sporting prowess and reputation there will be displayed examples of both the Repsol Honda RC212V from this year's MotoGP series - raced by Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden - and one of the HM Plant Honda CBR1000RR Fireblades which contested this year's Isle of Man TT races and allowed John McGuinness to capture the first 130mph lap of the circuit and victory in the Senior TT Race.

The line-up of production motorcycles includes the world's first production motorcycle airbag system, available on the new Gold Wing, which can help lessen the severity of injuries caused by frontal collisions.

Stand visitors will also be welcomed by several displays of Honda's unique innovation, which include the ASIMO humanoid robot, Honda solar panels and HondaJet.

The new Quattroporte Sport GT S will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow for its worldwide preview. The Quattroporte Sport GT S is the ultimate expression of Maseratis saloon sportiness.

Exclusively for those looking for an even stronger sporting edge in a luxury saloon, the Quattroporte Sport GT S, equipped with an automatic 6-speed gearbox, stands out for its exceptional dynamic behaviour and uncompromised handling.

This result was obtained with the introduction of new suspension layout, featuring single rate dampers and a racing set up. The Quattroporte Sport GT S sits 10mm lower at the front and 25mm at the rear compared to other versions of the Quattroporte, and also features new, stiffer springs and dampers.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S boasts a unique braking system developed in collaboration with Brembo. This innovative technology uses dual-cast brake discs, and this is the first time such a set up has been employed on a road car.

Unlike traditional cast iron discs, dual-cast discs are made of two materials, cast iron and aluminium, to ensure optimised braking, improving performance in the most extreme conditions and providing greater resistance to fade even at the highest temperatures. The Quattroporte Sport GT Ss new braking system also benefits from new mono-block, six-piston callipers at the front and tyres developed especially for this car (front 245/35-R20 and rear 295/30-R20). The increased size of the rear tyres allows optimum use of the Maseratis V8 power, whilst the new tyre compound helps the brakes and set-up to guarantee a superior level of handling and driving emotion.

The Quattroporte Sport GT Ss exterior is distinguished by a more aggressive look. Along with the black-chrome mesh front grille, a characteristic element of sporty Maseratis, the side window trims and the two double exhaust pipes are also in black, whilst door handles are in the same colour as the body of the car.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S is fitted with eye-catching dark-chrome 20", seven spoke alloy wheels.

Even the choice of material for the interior of the Quattroporte Sport GT S reflects the car's sporty character. Traditional Poltrona Frau leather has been combined with Alcantara, which covers the central zone of the seats, the interior door panels and the steering wheel. Maserati has previously used Alcantara for the interior of the Trofeo cars and the MC12.

The dashboard is finished in new carbon fibre with aluminium treads, whilst front seats are characterised by a new, more cosseting sporty shape.

The concept car Flux, designed by Mihai panaitescu, won the 4th Peugeot Design Competition. The car was designed to achieve universal pleasure by adapting to different lifestyle situations. The theme of this fourth competition, summed up by the acronym P.L.E.A.S.E. Innovate!, has inspired the creativity of web based designers throughout the world, resulting in more than 4,000 projects.
Complimenting present automotive aspirations, Flux has shown the themes most relevant illustrations, since its concept corresponds to a type of car that achieves utter driving Pleasure through its Light weight and Efficiency, while at the same time remaining Accessible through the Simplicity and Ecology of its design.
Flux was chosen by a jury chaired by Frdric Saint-Geours, General Manager of Automobiles Peugeot and made up of Peugeot representatives, its Style Centre, Xbox, but also of web based people who voted online.
Unveiled at this years Geneva show, and thanks to its sophisticated design, Flux will be making a second appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Flux will appear real in the form of a full-scale model presented at Peugeots exhibition space and virtual in a new version of the PGR 4 game on Xbox 360. These two elements constitute the two most fantastic prizes of the 4th Peugeot design competition.
The 4th design competition attracted greater participation, with more than 200 additional projects compared with the 3rd competition (4,029 compared with 3,800), confirming its international appeal, with 113 countries represented as opposed to 107 in the last competition.
The Peugeot design competition
Since its launch at the Paris Motor Show in 2000, the competition has seen its success grow each time, allowing an ever increasing group of web based designers, the chance to present their vision of a car based on a specific theme.
At the end of this fourth competition, we have seen the creation of more than 12,600 projects in total, based on themes as varied as the Peugeot of 2020, retro-futurism, the dream car of the near future and, last but not least, the P.L.E.A.S.E. car.
The generous funding of the competition has certainly contributed to its success. In effect, the winner benefits from considerable exposure, because their project is built as a full scale model and presented by Peugeot at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The fourth competition has substantially increased its funding, because in addition to the concept car being made as a full-scale model, it also included a cheque for 6,000e, making a 1:43 miniature of the winning project and the integration of the winning project in the Gotham Racing video game project, version 4, on Xbox 360. The latter not only encouraged participation, but also constituted an additional source of inspiration for the participants, whose creations could be influenced by the world of the video game!
A 100% Internet event
The fact that the competition ran entirely over the Internet made a significant contribution to its success. A pivotal element of the competition, the dedicated site www.peugeot-concours-design.com, recorded a particularly high number of visits: more than 650,000 visitors have ploughedtheir way through more than 3,700,000 pages since July 2006.The Internet site has also played the role of unifying a community of web based designers interested in the competition, which has nearly 35,000 members from 100 countries at the moment.
The timetable
The design competition consists of five stages. The creation stage took place between September and December, followed by the selection stage consisting of three steps between December and February: a first selection of 30 projects by Peugeot designers, followed by an on line vote. This resulted in a short list of ten projects, then completed by the selection of the winning project by the jury chaired by Frdric Saint-Geours. The winning project was announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. The implementation stage of the full-scale project and its presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show was completed in September, whereas the last stage of integration in the PGR 4 video game on Xbox 360 will take place between autumn 2007 and the beginning of 2008.
The reasons for choosing the winner
The choice of the jury chaired by Frdric Saint-Geours was not easy because of the quality of the ten projects that emerged following the Internet vote. But, because of the originality of its concept, the quality of its presentation, its empathy with the theme and its identification with the brand, Flux won the heart of the jury.
This roadster has succeeded in combining the various points of the specification and brilliantly illustrates the theme summed up by the acronym P.L.E.A.S.E. This strict two-seater evokes a car world in its quintessential dimension. Flux conjures up a vision of hair flowing in the wind with the car closely hugging the tarmac.
The Flux design and model suggest its lightness, an impression confirmed by the use of materials like polycarbonate or aluminium. Flux also displays ideal proportions and dimensions and features that favour great efficiency in equal measure through its length of 3.5 metres.
Also, thanks to its hydrogen engine, Flux has a power/weight ratio that is particularly in keeping with its exemplary road-holding. In addition, with its fuel cell, Flux has an engine that only emits water vapour, meeting head on the major environmental challenge linked with the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Flux is indeed a car of extreme values: zero noise, zero emissions and 100% pleasure.
Finally, Flux mirrors some of Peugeots style codes, such as a single air inlet, or headlights that wrap over the wings. Its style expresses a strong personality, both dynamic and elegant.
The podium and the finalists
The jury chose three different illustrations of the with regard to Njooy, the 2nd suggestion chosen P.L.E.A.S.E. vehicle. Apart from Flux, whose by the jury (Wesley Saikawa - Brazil - aged 27) genetic code certainly bears the stamp of the and leisure in the case of the 3rd project, Allscape car world, the other two projects that complete (Gustavo Ferrero - Venezuela - aged 29).
The production of Flux
Flux was produced under the control of Peugeots Style Centre according to the rules normally adopted when making a show vehicle. Entrusted to Delphine Gouget, architect within the team responsible for making concept cars, Flux required the involvement of various style specifics and the use of the most powerful technological resources over a period of three months.

PRESS RELEASE:

The sportiest midsize saloon
The new Audi A4

Audi opens up new horizons. The A4 is a sporty car with superb presence on
the road; it takes Audi forward into a new dimension on the midsize car
market. The engines that power the saloon, both TDI and spark-ignition, in
all cases with direct fuel injection, combine effortless power with high
efficiency. The dynamic running gear and the use of many technologies taken
direct from the large-car category are evidence of the brand's lead in
technical know-how. The new Audi is a new way to drive. It will reach
the market at the end of November 2007, at a basic list price of about
26,000 Euros in Germany.

In its design, the new A4 reveals its sporty, progressive character: taut and
dynamic in its outlines, it speaks the language of technical perfection. With an
overall length of 4.70 metres, the saloon has a substantial, powerful road stance
and offers its occupants ample space in an interior full of light. The workmanship
is typical of an Audi quality with no compromises. The controls can be backed
by the extra refinement of innovative assistance and multimedia systems. In the
safety area, the brand with the four-ring emblem sets new standards: the
coordinated action of the airbags and front seat belt force limiters protects the
occupants even more effectively.

When compared with the previous model, the A4 has new, sporty proportions.
The front body overhang has been drastically shortened; the bonnet and
wheelbase are both longer than before. In the driveline, the differential has
changed places with the clutch (or torque converter), making it possible to move
the front axle forward by 154 millimetres. This innovative solution ensures ideal
axle-load distribution. The new A4 is the sportiest saloon in the midsize car
category: agile, light and precise to control. Its dynamic suspension is a totally
new design, with most of its components made from weight-saving aluminium.

The results are impressive: supremely dynamic road behaviour and effortlessly
precise handling.

New high-tech options make the A4 driving experience even more fascinating:
Audi drive select varies the engine, automatic transmission, steering and
suspension damping characteristics to suit the driver's preferences at any given
moment. Audi dynamic steering varies its ratio according to the car's speed and
keeps the new A4 stable close to the handling limits by slight, almost
instantaneous changes to the steering angle. The damping control system for the
hydraulic shock absorbers varies the damping characteristic individually, to
combine sporty driving enjoyment with maximum road safety.

The new Audi A4 is being introduced with a choice of five engines, their power
outputs ranging from 105 kW (143 bhp) to 195 kW (265 bhp). The four-cylinder
petrol engine, like the diesels, is turbocharged, and both types of engine have
direct fuel injection. All the engines, with their supremely refined flow of power,
make the A4 a pleasure to drive and, thanks to their high efficiency, consume
distinctly less fuel than the previous versions.

Various transmissions are available: a six-speed manual gearbox, the tiptronic
automatic transmission, the multitronic continuously variable transmission, and
either front-wheel drive or quattro permanent all-wheel drive, which has been
subjected to intensive development work that has made its performance even
more dynamic.

The Mixim concept car is a compact vehicle for young drivers who are mostly engaged by their computer and the world via the internet. The driver sits centrally, with two seats either side, while the steering wheel and controls are inspired by the interfaces so familiar to computer gamers.

Powered by Nissans Super Motor electric motor/generator and using compact lithium-ion batteries, Mixim has unusually rapid performance combined with a usefully extended range. One Super Motor powers the front axle and a second drives the rear axle, giving Mixim all-wheel drive.
Mixim takes the most up-to-date electric vehicle (EV) technology and clothes it in a svelte and distinctive coup shape. Its wraparound windscreen, inspired by the visor of a crash helmet, dominates the profile while the swept back windscreen, flowing roofline and sharply truncated rear hints at sporting performance unexpected from an electric vehicle.
Diamond-shaped styling cues feature inside and out, notably on the twin air intakes to the rear of the doors and the front LED driving lights, while an upper triangular side window links the gentle slope of the roof with the dramatic angular slash that runs through the centre of the doors. The rear hatch opens to reveal a large trunk area behind the three seats. An occasional fourth seat is also housed behind the front seat module.
Sitting on a 2530mm wheelbase, Mixim is 3700mm long, 1800mm wide and 1400mm high, the Mixim is shorter and lower than Micra, though slightly wider. It weighs just 950kg.

Despite being a concept car with no guarantee of being turned into a series production model, Mixims development is in line with the Nissan Green Program, the companys publicly stated desire to create a more sustainable mobile society.

Throughout the show, the Mixim will be driving from a low stage via a ramp to an elevated display platform on the Nissan stand.
