Hey guys, i re-did my rear floor(still not complete) mounted the amp below the floor, used MDF wood to make a new floor and amp window. covered it with fake black leather. Here are some pics of how it looks so far. i still need to center the amp correctly. runs the wires neatly and im going to take out the hole hatch interior, put the floor down, then put the interior back in so you cant see the edges. i like it for my first custom job. tell me what you think!!!

that amp puts out 175rms watts to the front alpine type R components and 450rms watts to the sub, which is a JBL GTO 12" and a sealed 1 cubic foot box which im waiting for the UPS man to drop off. Anyways tell me what you think, and if you have any opinions or things i should do let me know. THANKS

I feel you my man. I have been there and done that. I went through several sheets of PB to get it right......and it's still not right. I had a big "build" including sound deadning and "hoop dreams" of a stellar false floor. Everything turned out great except the false floor. I like your concept of the "fold away" floor. Until you have tried it, you wont understand that you can not build an entire floor and just slide it in. Keep it up!

Here is my bull s*** thread for reference.....my little build

I look foward to your finished product. I do want to finish my false floor soon and need some inspiration like what you are doing.

Sorry for the thread jack! Continue......

thanks. yea, i wish i could of used one big piece to do the floor, but the shape of our cars doesnt allow it. i just want a clean and simple system. my new sub and box will be here monday so ill take more pics when its complete.

Make your own way mate! I know and I believe it's possible. We have to do our damn'dest to make it happen. Good luck!

Hey man looks like its coming along very nice! looking forward to the final product. If you need any more help feel free to pm me.

I bet thats one Heavy MOFO!
What thickness did you use?
Looks like 3/4''..If so..THat was way overkill for a false floor..but it looks like it fits great.
Good work.

Good work.

its only 1/4th" MDF, and its kinda light. i wanted to use something thinner, but then didnt want it to be flemsy.

That looks like it fits better then the rubber floor mat that I puraches for my p5!

lol, thank. its really tight right now i think im going to try to take out all the rear interior pieces and lay the floor, then put the interior back in so all the edges are hidden! hopefully it works out the way i want it to.

Nice work! How did you get the edges cut so perfectly against the panels?

lol, thanks. i just took the carpet from the hatch, laid it on the MDF and traced it. Used a skill saw to do the cutting!!! Its a tight fit, but it looks good. I ordered new black carpet last night so i can re wrap the floor. i think carpet will look better.

Hey guys, i got a question for you all??? How did you run your wires? any tricks on keeping them clean and organized?? also with my flase floor i have nowhere to run the wires without the floor sitting on them? should i cut a spot outta the floor to run them, the carpet would cover the gap? Any tips? Id like to hear them all?? THANKS

some pics of it with the crappy vinyle and wires organized and amp centered(best i can get it) i ordered new black carpet to recover it. i think it will look alot better with carpet. also will look better once i get my new sub/box.

i also think im going to raise the amp so the floor sits right on it. i dont want any gaps.

I think it would look better raised. Keep up the good work.

yea, it think to crease in the floor looks like s***, but i think the carpet will hide that, and the sub will too. also i think it the amp was higher the floor would sit on it and showcase it better. i wish the damn spare tire spot was centered so the amp could be right in the middle. having it offsides looks wierd.

The New Floor and System Is Complete!!! Check It Out And Let Me Know What You Think!!! Sorry for crappy pics.

(thumb) that looks great! The only thing I'd change is perhaps move the sub to one corner to free up a little bit of room. Are you going to make a plexiglass cover or anything to cover up the amp when you have stuff in the trunk?
