I always go Left Front to Right Rear, Right Front to Left Rear, and move the Left Rear to the Left Front, the Right Rear to the Right Front.
So your fronts go diagonal back, and your backs go straight forward. Then again, I was doing this way on a RWD, so maybe there is differentiation for FWD/RWD? It seems to really even out the treads, at least on my '94 TBird. I was going to do that on my MZDSP3.
*edit* I am going to follow my manual and get my first oil change (for free at my dealer for life, that's awesome) at 7k, and get my first rotation then, too...
