What size ic piping to run..

I just ordered 2.5inch intercooler piping for my fmic but now I'm having second thoughts on 2.25inch?
I'm on stock internals so I will be on stock boost. Any input out there?

2.25 inch is easier to fit, make bends, ect. but alot of people run 2.5 just fine also.

i can deal with fitment issues the only thing im wondering is if ill get a faster throttle response with 2.25 vs 2.5

from what I read in this thread just by having a fmic period lowers throttle response as far different size piping ( 2.25 - 2.5 ) i think the difference is so small it wouldn't matter but that's just my opinion.

Yeah I know a smic will pass air faster than a fmic thanks for that link anyways. My thought was to get a small fmic so it fills up quicker than a larger one and avoiding heat soak by not having it in the engine bay. You're probably right the size probably isn't too big of a difference from 2.25 and 2.5

Stock SMIC has a 2.5psi pressure drop, I have the same if not better throttle response with my FMIC and 2.5" piping I can guarantee that. Stock internals running about stock boost sometimes as high as 9-10psi.
