Is there a thread that shows all of the engines that will fit the Mazdaspeed protege? I am looking for a engine for a 2.0 liter protege and want to know what all will fit it before I start looking.

I want a list of all the 2.0 FS engine that are the same.
I know some of the older FS engines have a crank that is not forged or something. I want something that will be a pretty easy swap.

Unfortunately, I had lost the mod bug and really didnt care about modding the MSP anymore BUTTTT there is some new love coming back
I need to clean up and fix a couple things to get her running like new again

If you want to not deal with extra headaches from dumb little differences, just get an FS from a 2000-2003 Protege or 626. They're all the same.

Is it a solid piece? Or is it tubular, so that I can just weld the rest on?

its the solid peice thats cast.. the 3" pipe goes into it adn welded in place.

This is another question are the exhaust manifolds the same on the protege and 626? I think that the NA protege manifold bolts up to the stock J pipe that the MSP has also right?

Yeah
So yesterday I did some maintenance crap, changed my oil checked the spark plugs etc, the tip on one of the plug was ******* missing so I changed that plug and im now hoping this will resolve my recent issues of weird hesitation at WOT.
Then I noticed my front right wheel was moving a bit so I took it off and the ******* axle nut was coming loose so I tightened it. I went for a test drive and whenever I do a hard turn to the left I have a really loud noise coming from the front right tire, im wondering if I didnt tightened the axle nut too much and then it expended with heat? There was no noise before at all and basically the only thing I did is that : take the wheel out and tighten the axle nut.
I havent had a chance to look at it yet, I just parked it home for now. Oh and whenever I start the car there is a pretty loud knocking noise that seems to be coming from the intake valves, it goes away when the car is fully warmed up. Ill try to record a video and post it on here tomorrow. The engine only has about 6-7k on it so if its something serious that would really piss me off then I would have to post this in the other thread.
