Weird Hissing noise

When im accelerating, around 2-3000 rpm i hear some weird hissing noise, it sound like someone straching a chalk borad... when i let up off the gas it stop, btw my car auto, when my car shift around 40mph, it the hissing noise get worst and it almost sound like someone balling up foil and ripping it up. So hard to describe a noise over the Internet

This happen when im cruising , when at a stop light it stop it goes away, so from what i know the problem happen with accelerating, i took it to my mechanic and all he could say is that he can't hear it, and to wait until it more noticeable, and that it could be something with the car sucking in air, there might be a leak and blah blah blah.

I let my dad hear it and he said it sounds like a vacuum leak, to him it sound like a grounding noise, like something rubbing together...

It sound like a rattling noise like metal rubbering together it get more aggerssive at higher rpm until the car shift... i think that the best way i can describe it.

Some guy overheard my conversation when i went to auto zone and he said that he had the exact same problem with his protege, he said its a vacuum problem and air is being pushed out

it's a very common problem with the 1.6l... A vaccum line that is loosing air. Let your car run on idle and try to find where the sound is comming from, if it's not working make it rev and do the same thing

went to a mechanic with a smoke machine and we found out that it was the EGR valve... smoke was leakin from it bad 220 from dealer ship, 280 from auto zone 120 on amazon

dont mind my asking whats the mileage on the ride?
a bit shocked here :/

well the car has 109k on it, and honestly changing the EGR valve didnt even help, the hissing noise is still there
