So anywayz, I got my car back yesterday. New tranny, and new driver's side CV Axle. Going slow the car is fine, but going normal speed it will vibrate the hell out of you. Full body vibration crap. It's not my motor mounts (I was thinking, since they are 95 dur), because they've been on for a while. Any ideas?

Possibly, I'll go out and take a photo of it.

New one on the left, passenger side on the right.

I mean the input shaft more so than the external color. I had it happen to me and it ruined the transaxle in another car. Not saying that is the case and I hope for your sake it isn't. Just that it could be. The vibration got worse with speed. Wrong part from supplier. I learned my lesson which is why I will have the MSPs units rebuilt when its time.

I'll call them tomorrow and make sure. One year warranty. I remember them saying it took so long to finish my car because the people sent them the wrong CV axle three times. The vibration is just like that, makes you vibrate all over the place and riding in it is not comfortable like it used to be, and it increases with speed.

its the wrong one.. i had the same issue!!! where did you get it at? if you have the old one.. u can see the difference..

Transmission shop in Buford, GA put it in, I'm definitely going to call tomorrow, and possibly call tonight and leave a message.

I guess the shop didn't test drive it?

I don't suggest driving the car very far.

ehh.. i drove mine for over 200 miles like that.. it was about 1/2 in longer than stocker! drives like a dream now that i have the damn thing fixed.. i got my drivers axle from napa.. fit like a glove.. got the passenger from advanced.. 3 diff ones ordered factory direct for MSP.. not one was right!!

what tranny did they put in ?

did they put in msp CV joints if it's a msp tranny ??

there not the same as conventionnal protege's..there supposed to be smaller

They just rebuilt my OEM MSP tranny. I have no idea about what CV axle they used, all I know is that they put one on. I called just now and left the guy a message and explained to him about the different ones from the factory, basically about one of the posts above.. about it being 1/2" longer than the stock one.

Just got a call back from the tranny shop, yup, at 8:53 pm (they're great with fixing issues :D ) and he is going to order another one tomorrow that he thinks will be the right one. Then they're going to put that one on, test that one, and hopefully it will be cured :)

are you sure he's not ordering you just any protege axle instead of a mazdaspeed? they ARE different and even if you tell people so, most of the time they ignore you and think your car is still the same as grandma's protege

last time I checked, there's not any way to get a reman msp axle... the only way is to get one rebuilt by a shop

I asked him about making sure it was for a MSP. I'll be able to talk to him more about it tomorrow, couldn't understand 70% of it because his cell phone sounded rough.

That would explain my ABS light being on.. I called and told them that it was a Mazda only part, so we will see.. I told them I knew of a dealer in Charlotte, should hear back soon from the tranny people. What a process, geez.

Just looking at the pics that is the wrong axle. OEM Mazda only part!
