Hey guys! My setup is finally up and running! All I have to say is WOW!!!:D The T3/T4 does have a bit of lag (starts to boost at 3200 rpm and got full boost by 3500 rpm) but when it kicks in... LOOK OUT, I'MA COMIN'! I am very happy with the end results. All of those late nights installing and then tuning paid off big.

Right now I am boosting 5 psi and I can feel the differance totaly. My friend with another Pro 5 (CAI and Cat Back Exhaust) wanted to see how much of a differance there would be. It was like night and day! Now everyone in my crew wants to go TURBO! I will be turning up the boost shortly and will keep you all updated on my findings.

By the way, I think we have a speed governor. When I took it on a run last night (deserted freeway) it pulled right up past 130 mph and kept climbing. Just before I hit 140 the car cut out like I took my foot off of the gas.:( I was like :wtf: I thought that maybe one of my intercooler piping poped off. So I pushed in the clutch and watched the rpm come down and the car was still idling. I slowed down to about 110 and let the clutch out slowly and hit the throttle. The car ran like nothing happened. So I don't know.

I will post up better pics tomorrow. The DARKSIDE is good!!! Oh so good!!!

Dave

Way to go! I am trying to meet you there now, but am running into a couple of road blocks (Missing Part, Transportation). My car is on jackstands. Glad to hear you will be eating up that island!

Are you the first site member to stick a t3/t4 under the hood? I know several people were concerned about lag and drivability...how does it feel/behave on the street under normal driving conditions?

Does the boosted power hit hard or smoothly?

Don't most modern production cars have a speed governor of some type...on the proteg is that something programmed in the ecu or is it a separate device?

What RPM were you at right before the cutoff? Without the governor or blowing your engine what top speed do you think you can reach?

Lets see pics and dyno numbers!!! (thumb)

Congrats! :D

Here are some pics of my T3/T4 compaired to a regular T3.

How do you guys like the differance!?

Dave

where are the pics of the engine bay dammit:mad:

Just kidding:D
Damn what a nice shiny turbo!
So what are the specs on that badboy?

Antonie- As far as how the boost response is... it is a bit laggy but it is expected. When the boost comes online it is not as abrupt as I though it would be but it will pull STRONG up to redline. When I say strong I mean STRONG!!! It feels as though car wants to rip the tach needle off and say "IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!". The car cut out at about 6k so I know that it was in no way the rev limiter. I guess I do have to go stand alone after all (that is after I build up the bottom end first).

BlueDevil NYC- I will dyno my car after getting my clutch and lightened flywheel first. I am already experianceing clutch slippage.

big ben- Hehehe! Like I said in a previous post... "nothing that a hammer coulden't solve". It is a very tight fit indeed. From the compessor housing to the block I think I have about 1 to 2 milimeters to spare. I had to pound... um... redesign the hard colant lines that run in front of the block. Other then that, it fit perfect!!! HAHAHA!!!

I can now personally vouch for Dave on his turbo setup, it is very sweet:eek:, and clean. I love all the red accents you have on the car. Also, I dont mean to over post, but here is a LINK for the pics that were taken on Sundays Mazda meet. I think the best one is the shot with PRO5s' car and me following, nice view of your IC Dave. Because I was following you most, all, of the cruise, when you gave it some gas you really took off while I was there still putting along. Nice work Dave

Pete

Awesome! 5psi and it pulls that strong, eh? I SO want to see a dyno chart. Should show off that cat back exhaust. :D

You people suck, WTF, no pics of the engine bay!!!!!!!!!!! :( I'am dying here. Also, Dave it looks like there is something red inside your Pro, any seat?

PICS!!!

OK guys here are the pics that you wanted... Enjoy!

great job......is it intercooled?

I notice the piping coming from the right side of the bay, care to elobarate.

nice job.....

nice job.....

Looks like it is going into the throtle body/intake manifold. My question is: Is the piping coming from an intercooler?

sorry, I didn't articulate my question properly..... basically is it coming from an intercooler and are you running the pipe in where "traditional CAIs" are run (through the left side opening behind the light housing). I'm now confusing myself.
