Thanks for the update smokey. I've got a ticket running, hoping I get one as well. Just did the coil stretch mod and put some HKS 1 step colder plugs in...damn boost tube...had to fight it again.
well i get out of work at 5 and i will take pics of it tonight after the gym and hopefully install it tomm...i will also compare with pics of the old tube that they sent me..if it works im calling su on monday morning and telling them to get ready for a lot of phone calls lol
for those complaining about the back portion not being able to fit well into the boost tube with this SU tmic, I took pics of what mine looks like on my ETS 3.25 version. Works great without issues on the ETS and with Street Unit Boost tubes as the tubes I am using:
ok well it didnt work out ..i tried this new tube they gave me made by venair and it was such a pain in the ass...it would of worked if the tube wasn't so god damn tight..the tube was so frickin hard it had no play in it what so ever....i eventually got it on..but every time i went to screw down the intercooler , after i got the front tube all clamped down and rear tubes clamped down, the rear tube would pull so fricking hard it would pull right off the intercooler..i was amazed because i had the clamps on so ******* hard it was peeling the intercooler tubes...i started this job at 11 this morning...and finally said **** it around 5..i ended up getting so frustrated i took the blue tube off the front of the intercooler, put the stock tubes back on and packed the su tubes in a box to be shipped back asap lol..i am so upset and it pisses me off..
i have pictures of the venair tube they sent me and compared it to the su ones that you can order. i even have a picture of the su tube on the intercooler and the huge kink...but i will post them tomorrow when i get to work ..sorry guys i tried!!!
I'm sorry the new tube didn't work out. I was sure hoping it would since I want to replace my stock tube. I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel, but hopefully we can find another solution. Perhaps SU Mark can come up with something else that will work without so much effort.
Thanks for trying.
I spent a couple hours putting on my new CPE turbo inlet. At least that worked out.
Damn sorry you didn't have better luck . I was able to get a bit more fitment after reseating my intercooler again, but it still looks like its the wrong hose for the job.
I wish that 2.25 to 2.0 was just an inch or two longer. I don't feel like ordering another hose to fix the problem.
Make sure to keep SU feedback on the new hose. I think they're assuming that the diameter of the intercooler hose nipple is the same as stock, but its not...its more like 2.25 or larger.
ok here is some pictures of the tube they sent me by venair...the blue tube on the intercooler is actually the su one all kinked... and the last picture is a dent in my intercooler when it was shipped to me ...cause there is no way i could of done this..which makes me upset that i spent 600 bucks and its dented and none of the tubes fit...
I think maybe that dent is intentional, mine has the same dent. But yea, I was putting on my CP-E inlet pipe yesterday and tried to rearrange the rear tube to fit better, but to no avail. If SU will let you swap out an ETS for their IC, let me know. I can't help but think that the kinking of the rear tube is putting a "kink" in the potential performance gained by the aftermarket IC.
I also noticed that the tranny mount was separated by an 1/8 of an inch on the side facing the cabin. I'm wondering if its failing.
ok i got off the phone with mark from su..he told me to call him back on may 15th in regards to a "new" su tmic in development which will fix the rear inlet pipe so that these boost tubes will fit...he said they would pay for the shipping cost of the return of the old tmic which is nice. he also said that my intercooler was the worse he had seen when it comes to the hose fitment (just my luck) he also told me to keep the blue hoses i have cause they will definitely fit this new intercooler
I just got off the phone with Mark as well, he asked me to try using the stock tubes for the IC to see if they would fit better. I'm going to do that tonight and if the fitment still sub-par to my standards, I'm going to call him back. Mark says that 50% of the time, he has complaints about ill fitting rear tubes on their IC. Time to get this resolved! I think it is as simple as re-welding the inlet on the IC at a slightly more downward angle.
Coyfish, I don't remember you having any issues, do you have pictures of your rear boost tube?
