Slipping serpentine belt issue...

My wife's 5 has just developed a problem with the serpentine belt. It's slipping slightly when the AC is on. It only makes noise when cruisng at around 2000 RPM.

The car is 3 months out of the bumper to bumper and has 32K miles on it. The belt itself is an odd brown color that I've not seen before. It doesn't look glazed or like it's getting chewed up.

I've bought a replacement belt and will change it tonight to see if it goes away. It is for sure the AC unit causing the noise and not the tensioner or power stgeering unit.

Anyone else run into this?

OK, so there are two belts, the one for the AC is a dedicated one, and the AC compressor is located on the bottom of the engine. It rained here all weekend and it may be a coinidence, but I removed the lower belly pan from the car weekend before last becuase my wife busted it up. I could see the extra water making the belt squeel. Either way I'll climb under there this weekend and see if I can tighten or adjust that dedicated belt.

My 2007 5 Sport has a belt that slips when it rains - 71k & time to replace the belt
