Thread should read "Roof Paint Job Questions", sorry....
I want to share with you all about my experience with the roof of my 2012 Mazda5. I have a situation with knicks on my roof supposedly made by very small rocks or pebbles. About 3 months ago, I discovered a paint bubble on the top of my roof while wiping it down. I took the vehicle back to the dealer to file a perforation warranty claim. The service department took pictures using their cell phone and sent them to their corporate office experts on the mainland to review them. After 7 weeks, I was told that the claim was denied because the picture showed evidence of external damage caused by a small rock or a pebble. The bubble is approximately 5mm in diameter with a center brown speck of 1mm. There are no dents or scratches to indicate a rock or pebble had caused it. I even took it to a body and fender shop and they were surprised that Mazda couldn't do anything about the warranty claim. While we were inspecting the vehicle we found another bubble, this one about 3mm in size. Are there problems with the integrity on the body or roof paint that you all know about? I owned 4 Toyota's and even if they did have nicks and scratches, they did not rust or bubble up like the Mazda that I own now. Though I like my Mazda very much, I'm beginning to have second thoughts on why I bought one.
Theres only one other dealer here in Hawaii and they don't want to take on the situation since I did not buy the vehicle from them and even though it is a Mazda dealership.
