People remember, the GN is AT LEAST 15 years old, with probably NOT ONE DAY of easy driving on it. 15 years can take ALOT out of any car, even if properly maintained, per mfrs suggestions.

Now, if the car is owned by an anal retentive gear head, yeah, it will deffinitly kill a MSP. :D

just my 2 bits. go on and flame me, I beat a damn Monte SS, same timeframe as the GN built. and running a V-8. :D

Well the monte was built with a low output no-TPI smogged out shitcrate of a small displacement V8. So it basically ran like ass.
You should have beat it.
"Stock Specs 1985 (Motortrend) 1985 (Car & Driver)
0-50mph in 6.0 sec. 0-100mph in 25.6 sec.
0-60mph in 8.4 sec. 0-60mph in 7.8 sec.
1/4 mile in 16.1 sec. 1/4 mile in 15.9 sec. @ 86mph
0.82 g lateral accel. 0.80 g lateral accel."
See it was a, say it with me now, "s***----BOX."

My first car was 470HP 69 Chevelle that my Dad bought from his bud. My Dad's friend just bought a new (back then) 1988 Monte Carlo SS for his son and ripped the stock motor out and replaced it with a 396ci, roller camed, TPI injected, big block and man it was sweet.
Oh my can you say Torque MONSTA!
So bascially I was getting his lowly 470HP stroker small block hand-me-down car. I only had it for 4 months and some asshead ran a redlight at 70MPH and destroyed my car. So I had to build another one. :'(

Ahhh V-8.

that phrase has such a ring to it. . .very soothing.

V-8

It will suck to have to explain what a V-8 was to our kids....when they want to buy the latest 50hp hybrid piece of crap Jetsons mobile 10-20 years from now.

I think everyone has to own a V-8 at some point in their life...its like... ...the american dream.

Hell, I just realized that even though I posted in here, I missed an opportunity to shamelessly post the picture of my old T-Type (GN in Grandpa dress) :-)

Can you say sleeper?? :)
