Question about our flash....

Cirielle, i think i will settle this for everyone, our car can be a 13's car after you spend about 5 to 7 grand on your motor. :) and i know nothing about engines :)

Ouch- try $500-700 in mods/tires if you shop right and know how to tune..
Joe

hmmm ok so 7 grand was a horrible assumption....lets just leave it at...you would have one bad ass MSP! :)

Young grasshoppa is right!

Don't need a new engine!!!
You can really make due with this one!
If you can't then the important question is why did you buy an MSP!
You really can tune this car and get some great response out of it.

So here is a list of what you should get!

MBC or EBC - mechanical or electrical boost controller
If MBC then get a boost gauge
Get an FMIC - this way when you up the boost heat soak is handled!
An CAI is really not that important, but hey go for it anyways!
Colder plugs
Those four things right there should get you some great power out of the car, when you have saved up or gotten more money then I suggest a Turbo back exhaust. Later on when power is not enough (because truly mods and power are never just enough! :) ) you could trade out the turbo for a T3/T04 hybrid. Add some fuel injectors, get forged components, etc.
Really this stuff can be found all over the board and many members here can give you a better run-down in a non-general way!

Are you for real?? 12-13 psi, race fuel good tires and an exhaust. I went 14.2@100 with like a 2.3 60' time. If that were a 2.0, it would have been a 13.6-13.7 or so run. Gutting the car and a FMIC are overkill just to go 13's..
Joe

Well, I threw the "no back seat" part more for kicks than anything:p . The mods you listed are everything I listed minus the FMIC.

just curious....who has, BY FAR, the best MSP yet? I bet that can become a big controversial issue :)

It depends what everyone looks for in "the best." "Best" is not always the fastest in a straight line.

But the quickest MSP I've seen that are believable are Joe (kwiktsi) and ForeFed (Matt)

Edit - damn "quote" and "edit" button are too close!

I mean, whose car is worthy of making it into a magazine! The three E's. Engine, Electronics, Exterior! blah

The "fastest" claimed MSP so far is Kenetix. Hes posted some low 13 times, and has quite a bit of work done to his car.
the "best' well. what do you consider the best?

what is upsetting to me is that i have not seen our cars in a import tuner magazine yet....When i mean in a magazine i am talking about you would turn a persons head while they look at your buddies Supra....wait no, i don't think that is reasonable....SRT HAAH! :)

Okay, there was also a thread on this as well not too long ago!

Here are some members that would be top choices (or former members)

SoSpeed - he has done a lot to his car and it looks damn good!
Orange MSP - before the wreak sweet sweet setup!
Kwiktsi - outstanding mods

I am not sure right now of who else but there are a number of people on here really dedicated to their automobiles!

Talk to Ion their stuff is going to be published in a Turbo mag....not sure which one!

Yes and now you have gotten me to the point where I feel like referring you to the almighty search button!!!
Really searching over past thread is a wealth of knowledge, you really never know how much you can learn!!!

Hmmm yes will do, but still, SoSpeed's does not have a body kit :)
You need a boy kit to get into a magazine....Someone make a wide body kit for our car!

i seriously plan on having my car in a magazine someday. I am in negotiations with mazdaspeed about getting sponsorship and my friend is already sponsored by hose techniques, velox, catz, etc. Hence, parts should come by relatively cheaply. As of right now these are all my mods:

Performance/ Engine:

Spearco FMIC with custom Anodized piping and HKS BOV Anodized blue
Injen CAI
Joep MBC
Hose techniques Engine dress kit
Apex Motorsports 2.5 Inch DP
Custom 3inch cat back with Apexi N1 turbo Muffler
Greddy Full Auto Timer
Autometer Pro Comp Boost/ A/F Gauges with dual pillar pod.
NGK heat range 7 plugs
Denso High Flow Fuel Pump

Interior:

Dual Black Sparco Torinos
Stock everything else

Exterior/Suspension:

Eibach Pro Kit
Vanity Plate
Soon to be 50% tint

Basically I want to do things such as sparco steering wheel and 4pt racing harnesses on the interior.

ICE isnt that important to me

On the outside i want DGM CF eyelids, Fiberglass front lip spoiler, rear valence, and side skirts.

Then i want the mazdaspeed parts when they come out, WHICH THEY WILL.

My friend works at a mazdspeed parts outlet near Detroit MI and he assures me that items such as CF fender Flares as well as front lip spoilers will be comming out; as to when who knows.

Honestly I want a clean ass car that cun run a quarter in the 13s and be a solid Autox contender day in and out.

ICE really doesnt matter to me, but i wouldnt mind watching some initial D on a 7inch flat screen inside my car once in a while.

As to who has the "Best" Car that is really a subjective question. As to the fastest I really dont know, but i wouldnt doubt it if the fastest msp doesnt even post on this board.

For example, My friend who works for mazdaspeed has a custom built (he did it) 3-rotor rx-7 (3rd gen) with about 50 G's invested and I am positive he has one of the DOBEST (if thats a word) cleanest, fastest (daily driven) rx-7s in the country.
(oh look for it in the next Modified Mag, His name is Kan and his car is a red rx7)

He used to (in thailand) swap 2jZs into mercedes SL's in one day. I have so much respect for this man.

So, i like kenetix even though you all flame him. I think there is truth to his statements.

Hey Joe, what are all the mods u have done to your car (when you ran it at 18psi and got 263whp)?

The mods were- 3" from the stock downpipe back with a 3" free flow converter, my FPR kit, k&n drop in (stock box/intake setup) 18 psi (dropping to like 13-14 by redline), colder plugs and my FCD with 116 octane fuel.
Joe
