picking out my turbo

:
03.5 msp titanium
im almost at the end of my extremely long and painstaking process of buying my parts list for my build and im finally at the point of matching my turbo to my system. im between the gt2860, gt2863, gt2871, and the gt3071, even gt3076 gtx series too.

im looking for the 300-400 hp range with the best response of course. i am quite aware the disco potato can do 350hp but im just worried its not got enough umpf to it for what im wanting.

whos got the 3071? hows it feel under the pedal?

as for the disco potato, hows it feel under max load? does it spool faster/harder than the stocker?

engine mods include
camshafts
adj cam gears
racing v/v springs
pnp head
custom 3" exhaust with cutout
flywheel
st3 clutch
forged wiseco/k1 pistons/rods
lightened pulleys
upgraded gearset

I could imagine the disci potatoe to spool up allot nicer than the stock ill be running a 2871r soon

surely it will especially with the added horsepower, but i got to know if im selling myself short if i go with the 2871 vs the 3076

I would say go with a GTX3071 or if you are looking for something that spools a little quicker you can go with a GTX2867. I would look at the compressor maps for both make sure that you are still going to be in the efficiency range.

I agree. What kind of cams you running

this must be aretarded question but!!

i don't see any transmission mods
unless you just looking for 400 flywheel horsepower, that car is not going anywhere FAST.

anything beyond 250HP requieres some thought put into the transmission.

so perhaps you can do a GT28, save the money and build the tranny..you still have a long way to go before doing 400's.
which are achievable, but you need a supporting transmission.

400 isnt out of the question but im being reasonable and going one step at a time.. I just want to be able to buy one and only one turbo that will have the capacity in it if i ever wanted to push it harder.. the compressor maps all show these turbos operating well within my range. 300-350 is the goal. the GTX hardened gears are in my build but the LSD wasnt. i was actually planning on refurbishing the stock LSD and TIG welding it myself since its not cast.

ive got a set of FS-ZE cams

Don't weld a used LSD, it won't really do you that much good. Spend the $700 on a MFactory, especially since you're shooting for such high HP.

got perrin fuel rail already, about to pair the injectors.. probably going 850cc. 600 seemed a bit on the low side

I hope you have cash set aside for a standalone EMS, cuz you will idle like garbage with those huge injectors without one.

my boss is my drive right now.. he got a z06 and said my mazda will NEVER even compete.. his argument says to just buy a fast car and leave it alone. im one of those guys thats got to tweak what ive got ya know.. so even if i got a corvette or sti, i'd still be spending money on it.. my mazda isnt my daily driver so im really just putting into it and expecting everything a little 4-cyl tuner can give back.. i wouldnt be able to otherwise because its been without its engine since the fall. im really getting excited now because my parts are starting to stack up. i hope to have my build done in the next few months

Sweet yo im gonna be running same ems sprint 1000. U should consider buying a doc b oil pressure regulator valve.
