Ok, so what is the real deal with our damn fuel issue.

Mazda Speed Protege #987
Ok plain and simple. Can a regular AFC, such as the older style one like the dsm tuners use like this
adequately control some our our fuel woes? My friend who is employed by mazdaspeed (mechanic) told me that this is what I should get. he said it would work great. Also, he recommended the greddy emanage but not the profec e-01. He has the profec in his rx-7 and he says it is way too complicated and not worth the money.

So, if one were to get a custom fmic setup and go with all hardpipes and have an atmospheric BOV venting, could we control the stall issue by using the AFC, or emange? I am just curious because i am installing my fmic this week and I want to know if an AFC or emanage unit will solve this problem.

I heard someone before say that Apexi afc's didnt work with our cars but I could have been mistaken.

ANy opinions?

yeah the apexi safc's (at least the newer ones with the vacuum lcd screens) don't work. the safc can't read the voltage range that the maf operates off of. i have no idea about the older version though. but the emanage should suffice. i think there are a few people here running the emanage. search around and ask them.

hope that helps :)

our piggyback will be installed on an msp this week for your fuel concerns. PM me or email and we can talk about it
