New owner of a Mazdaspeed 6

2006 Mazdaspeed 6 GT
Proud owner of a brand new Red w/ black leather Mazdaspeed 6 GT. couple of questions. Is the install of a BOV hard and are their directions around here on it? and what kind of wheel HP am i going to have w/ the install of a BOV, CAI and downpipe. i'm looking at the CPE bov and downpipe and probably mazdaspeed CAI. thanks for any info. I also am looking forward to the programmer by cobbtuning.

Welcome...I will send you a pm also.

The BOV will not add horsepower, it's just cosmetic with the upgrades you suggest....kind of cool sound for some. If you look at further upgrades like a better intercooler and boost, it would be necessary. It certainly can't hurt though. I have heard of a few problems with getting the BOV seated properly.

The CAI is about a 2 hour job, and well worth it. I believe it adds about 15 wheel hp....the downpipe will be in the neighborhood of 20-25 wheel hp. A mazdaspeed CAI will keep warranty intact....an aftermarket downpipe will screw with your warranty.....catback exhaust is ok for warranty though.

My suggestion is to do the CAI before the bov....as the sound difference (including the stock bypass valve) is significant and maybe enough for what your looking for.

Good luck.

thanks for the info, i appreciate it. Anyone know roughly what a exhaust shop charges to install a downpipe?
