Hi all! I'm Dan from Madison, WI. Just bought an 03.5 MSP...a little pricey ($10k) but it's only got 32k miles on it - someone else asked about this car on the forum a year or so back if it sounds familiar.
Engine's been rebuilt, has a 12-month warranty on it. Has a CAI (Injen), FMIC (not sure which exactly yet), BOV and turbo timer (GReddy). Not too heavily modded as far as I can tell. Suspect the exhaust manifold may be cracked, but I'm not sure (everything I've owned to this point were NAs and had carbs
). I'll have to see if I can borrow a friend's garage at some point...being broke isn't conducive to car work in winter!
So far it drives beautifully. Has trouble when it gets really cold - idles a bit low and rough (~500rpm), engine cuts out when I push the clutch in from a high gear. Only when it's below ~15F though. Not quite sure what it is, but I'm hacking together an OBD2 tool to hopefully get more info.
With luck I'll manage to avoid serious problems with it...if not, oh well, I bought the MSP because I fell in love with it after driving one. Cheers!
