2003 MazdaSpeed Protege
I know it's a long shot but I live in Austin and am in need of somebody who knows what the hell they're doing around a MazdaSpeed Protege. Does anyone live in the area or know of anyone that can help me fix my car? I've taken it to multiple people, spent WAY too much trying to fix it and I'm still getting different answers for my engine codes!! I don't even fully trust what the dealership is telling me. PLEASE HELP!!

I kept getting the P2006 code which could be 100 different things. When I took it to the dealership this last time they said it was a bad wastegate. I took it to them because nobody else seemed to be able to tell me exactly what it was. What happens is every once in a while, maybe once every week or two, when I idle my RPM's flutter and the car acts like it's gonna die. The engine light turns on but then just a few minutes after, the fluttering stops. Eventually the engine light goes off until the whole thing happens again. This has been going on forever. First CarX told me I had a crack in my Intake Manifold so I replaced it and that help with the more serious fluttering/dying. But it still continues. Does this sound like a bad wastegate?

I can take a look at the car before you spend any money. It probably is a bad wastegate, your options are Forge or ATP and I can install either of them for you since a shop will charge an arm and a leg to install it.

Thanks a bunch, man! Like I said I will give you a call and maybe I can swing by next Saturday.
