code P1345 with major bogging above 3500rpm most likely due to fuel cutoff. that code is nonexistent in the FS manual. first i googled 1345 and came up with no CMP or SCC(?) signal. feeling dissatisfied i tried to find the code for FS which equates to that problem. best i could come up with was P0340. i checked the timing belt - fine. i replaced the cam sensor with one out of a junkyard which produced little to no change. i then tried a second jy sensor with the same result. baffled, i inspected the cmp wiring and did find tiny cracks in the sheen on both wires right at the connector, too close to cut and resolder. while i found it difficult to believe that these tiny cracks could cause this problem, i obtained a new connector from a jy and cut and resolderd that. still no change. i decided to inspect the crank sensor wiring and found my problem. the pigtail for the ckp was rubbing against a pulley at some point and was all f'd up. i ghetto rigged the wiring for the time being and it fixed the problem. i plan on replacing the ckp once im not unemployed anymore.
point is, in 99 and 2000 did mazda not write any service manual for those vehicles anticipating none would have any problems in that time period? i find that hard to believe. especially since a proper P1345 diag tree would have lead me to check the ckp as well as the cmp. also i would like this manual pending future issues like this seeing as my car is at 207k now
