I am open to susgestions.

To say the MSP isn't atleast 1 and ahalf times as popular as any other section is BS. It is. Why not have to areas for it.

Its not an ideal but maybe the only compromise. Also I am not screwing around. If many people want it that way I would back it 100%
It's popularity is directly related to the "hands" off freedom of the section.

sounds like a resonable compromise.

Maybe:
-General MSP
---MSP Problems
---MSP Sightings
---MSP Modifications

Hesitation/clunk/squeak/TSB/or whatever can go in problems (even tho other cars have some of the same problems I think this would clear a lot of threads out of the general section)

MSP Modifications can include vendors advertising new stuff, information about available mods and all that crap. Once again, a lot of this COULD go in other areas but this would clear a lot of traffic out of General

MSP Sightings is another popular topic for threads.

People could use these categories and just in case they dont, to keep things in order, we could have a rule where threads are only moved from General to one of the subcategories by a mod if it reaches a 2nd page of posts.
This way people can post things in general and get replies like "check the problems section" to point them in the right direction. Or a quick answer to a question they wanted everyone to see. And because we move threads to a more appropriate subcategory if applicable after one page of posts no threads that are better suited to one of the usbcategories will stick around "cluttering up" the general topics section

I like this because it can take a lot of traffic out of the general topics areas, doesnt result in mods moving tons of threads all over the place on people, and it sounds like a good compromise to organizing things a little more without moving information to 10 different places.

If we did this could you still just click on mazdaspeed on the main page and then have the general topics like they are now with the 3 subcategories listed at the top? That would keep the forum looking as simple as it does now, and would help prevent it from looking redundant.

Also, we woudl still be able to search "mazdaspeed" i believe and have it search general topics as well as the 3 subcategories.

i dunno, just an idea

I think its a good idea but not feasable (sp)

The problem is that we can't split it up like that.
If we do then all section must be done like that thus we now have 25 more seprete sections when we could use no more then what we have. We will still also have the problems of too much repeditive information amoung the different sections.

Our diffuculty is how to make it easy, organized and usefull. It isn't an easy task for certain. Giving the MSP 3 more section is not going to help when those areas are covered. In other words, repedive areas need to be removed one way or the other.

Now for searching we have to keep it the most organized. I think that can be done without a tone of moving. I would like to see threads picked through and certain posts removed to salvage the thread so information can easily be found. For the Mazdaspeed seach all you will have to do is type "Mazdaspeed: in with a perfomace section search to get, hopefuly much better result.
Something that only a driver of a MSP can answer like, How do your like your speed with an Injen, really has no buisness in the perfomance section, it needs to be in the MSP section so again the mods have to take great care to move threads on content not just a title.

Either way we are in a bad spot as the posts usualy don't belong where they are but often don't have a good place to go.
Probetalk had a good setup, I always felt. Maybe something like a seperate set of tech and perfomacne sections with Divisions for 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen, MSP. The real thing I loved about Probetalks setup was there was only one common area of offtopic. I always hated the idea of multiple randome conversation areas. I think we can be seperate in techniacl issues but should come together to be friends and screw around (thumb)

3) or info about hesitation?
I don't thik anyone would move that.

4) or info about my msp kenwood system being replaced under warranty?
As it is a warrenty and not audio question, i would leave it

take the time to see i left those type threads...

THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE. WE WILL MOVE THE POSTS WHEN YOU PEOPLE CANT POST IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM. GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND SEARCH. END OF DISCUSSION...YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTING LIKE ******* CHILDREN...

right. "we" by "we" you mean you, because you are the only one moving all the threads from the MSP section. (Kooldino even moved some back to the MSP section) it was fine until someone had the bright idea to do this....

im a moderator in this section here too and i think what you are doing is wrong (and the other moderators in this section didnt seem to have aproblem with the threads in this section either), ...

whatever.

To all Mods, I am glad you are cleaning up this forum. I think all of the bitching and moaning from other MSP-owning members perfectly illustrates how ridiculous this board has gotten. My attendence here has dropped drastically in the last month because there was nothing useful to read in the MSP forum.

And whoever tried to use 'MSP tires' as an example of why not to change this forum is a moron. Do you think only the MSP has tires on it? Is it maybe possbile that other Protege owners with 17" wheels have had tires on those wheels? Perhaps they could even offer advice and share their experiences with those tires. Don't be so blind people.

If i want to know about brake kits, I go to the performance sections. If I want to know if anyone elses MSP is making a screeching sound above 4000 rpm under WOT, then I'll ask other MSP owners in the MSP section.

Sorry Mods, this post got longwinded. Don't give up on us!! Clean us up and teach us what a useful forum is supposed to be like!!

I used the tires as an exemple in referrence to MSP specific problems. If another owner is having probs with the tires on his MSP I want to know. I don't ******* care who else has them, I won't go to a Daewoo forum to ask about their ******* tires. They could use them too you know. If I want to know about other tires I will go to the tire thread. But if seventy people are having problems with the tires that are OE on the MSP then it matters to me. I don't care about how your tires are doing if they are not on an MSP.

Whatever Mike, you obviously didn't take the time to think about what I was saying.

This is ridiculous... I dont want to read about p5 stuff and 1st gen stuff if im trying to find something about MY msp. If you insist on playing God Mod then at least make an MSP section and put subsections in that section. Sorry but if im looking for tire information about an MSP i could care less about what a p5 has. :wtf:

8 pages on this topic?

Everyone, thanks for your input. I am locking this thread. You may continue it in the flamewars section if you must.

Also - Because everyone is going nuts about the reorganization (and this is not meant as a criticism), we're gonna hold off on it until we've thought about a better idea to handle the problem at hand. Again thanks for your input and pm a mod or an amdin if you need anything.
