If we have 1/2 the MSP people hating the way the section is an the other half likeing it. Then what the hell else can we do?
I am open to susgestions.
To say the MSP isn't atleast 1 and ahalf times as popular as any other section is BS. It is. Why not have to areas for it.
Its not an ideal but maybe the only compromise. Also I am not screwing around. If many people want it that way I would back it 100%
sounds like a resonable compromise.
Maybe:
-General MSP
---MSP Problems
---MSP Sightings
---MSP Modifications
Hesitation/clunk/squeak/TSB/or whatever can go in problems (even tho other cars have some of the same problems I think this would clear a lot of threads out of the general section)
MSP Modifications can include vendors advertising new stuff, information about available mods and all that crap. Once again, a lot of this COULD go in other areas but this would clear a lot of traffic out of General
MSP Sightings is another popular topic for threads.
People could use these categories and just in case they dont, to keep things in order, we could have a rule where threads are only moved from General to one of the subcategories by a mod if it reaches a 2nd page of posts.
This way people can post things in general and get replies like "check the problems section" to point them in the right direction. Or a quick answer to a question they wanted everyone to see. And because we move threads to a more appropriate subcategory if applicable after one page of posts no threads that are better suited to one of the usbcategories will stick around "cluttering up" the general topics section
I like this because it can take a lot of traffic out of the general topics areas, doesnt result in mods moving tons of threads all over the place on people, and it sounds like a good compromise to organizing things a little more without moving information to 10 different places.
If we did this could you still just click on mazdaspeed on the main page and then have the general topics like they are now with the 3 subcategories listed at the top? That would keep the forum looking as simple as it does now, and would help prevent it from looking redundant.
Also, we woudl still be able to search "mazdaspeed" i believe and have it search general topics as well as the 3 subcategories.
i dunno, just an idea
