Mazda's Warantee Clause and Voiding Issues.

Does anyone here know the mods that Mazda will let you do to the car? For instance I know that Hyundai allows anything BUT force induction.

For instance, SCC says the top three mods they would do is a Boost Controller, Front Mount IC, and Catback Exhaust. Do things like Catback void the factory warantee?

I am THIS close to getting a 2003.5 Yellow or Grey Mazdaspeed and I just need a few more answers.

Thanks in advance!

search button. if the timer ***** up the car, its your fault. otherwise MAZDA USA HAS to prove that it did, if they cant its covered still. thats the law.

My dealer says if it needs to come in for warranty work then just return it to stock....yeah right, technically they can't void your warranty like pdhaudio says they have to prove that your mod did the damage, thats the law baby! Good for me that I know a good lawyer (my sister)

I hate how not everything with the car is under warranty. When I bought my MSP the rear right wheel had a little scrap on it, supposedly it happened on the lot, but it was not covered under warranty, they would not give me a new wheel, they said I could take 300 or so off the price or I would have to buy it. I thought that was bulls***, and I still hate the fact that the wheel is scratched and I did not do it.

chill out guys
Don't get too excited advertising the search button here

You have to come to expect it when the site's traffic is booming with numbers growing every day.

Learn to like it IMO.

Im not complaining about noobers not using the search button. :D Im just SICK of the warranty question. That is why I made that post, and it should be stickied in ALL forum topics here. :D

Maybe I will make the search button jumpy out and grab the reader by the face... j/k.. But I think I will make it flashier. Also, new people, do not take it personally. Our members spend -->alot<-- of time on this board and it can get understandably frustrating to see the same questions over and over. Similarly, veterans, be understanding of the fact that ultimately it is really only a question; but if you could do the search for the user in under 1 minute it would be very helpful.

Did you note the scratch when you picked up the car on the PDI report ? If so the dealer should replace it for free....if you noted the damage before you drove off the lot...b**** to Mazda as a new car is exactly that new and should be free of scrathes and other comsmetic defects. If you did not make note of the damage then you are SOL.

Heh thanks......I want one real bad.....Im just want to make sure this is what I want to be driving for the next 4 years. The Titanium Grey sure looks to be calling me tho :)

Oliver, I did tell them about the scratch before I drove it off the lot, and they did not say they would replace it for free, they said that I could either buy a new one or take some money off the price of the car. I dont know what that is about, I would have figured that a NEW car wouldnt have any damage to it at all, but they also informed me of a little dent in the door right above the window that cannot be fixed supposedly (they said they had some dent guys come out to fix it). Then somehow the Mazda centercaps on the wheels came off my car and those cost 50 bucks, so yet again anything with the rims doesnt seem to be covered for me by the warranty.

Yeah, but one man vs. a dealership? I'd love to see that in court. They might settle, but I doubt it. Awful easy to tie things up in court, or to push the whole "street racer = evil" thing.

well, its more than that - knowing that you have the law on your side is one thing, but finding out that your dealership ISN'T going to fight you over it is WAY better.

Well guys get this. I just got in the mail on Friday information about my extended warranty crap. If you read through it you will see that it states in no uncertain terms that modifications will void your warranty! The best part of it all is that a modification such as an aftermarket alarm system is on there as well! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that!!!! (shocked) An aftermarket alarm!!!!! I don't have much respect for the warranty side of Mazda at all!(upyours)

I think all waranty clauses are going to say you can't mod..I have the extended warranty as well, but I didn't really bother reading about clauses because they're all pretty much the same:

"Dont touch your car, don't even look at it"

Yeah, but the fact that they have it in writing makes it a lost case. Sorry, but I don't care what anyone says. When they have a warranty void clause in the paperwork....well, you are just SOL
