hey everybody, this is my first post
I went to put mazda6 wheels on my p5 today with 215/40/17 BF gforce t/a's
the front ones fit on just fine, but the rear ones touch the strut
do I need wheel spacers or just a wheel alignment?
the crappy stock tires were worn pretty bad on the inside edges
and it does look like the rear camber is a bit off...
any suggestions?
(deadhorse
thanks for the help

it may be the offset- do you have a pic?

BTW

welcome to the forums

do a search.. i'm sure someone has tried

thats the thing... I searched and I found a few ppl that have done the same
but they said they had no problems?
its a 17x7 with a 60mm offset
i think stock is 16x6 with 50mm offset
correct me if i'm wrong

i was thinking maybe 5mm or 10mm spacers for the rear
is this going to work if i buy racing beat springs and new struts?

I think for spacers much bigger than 5mm you'll need extended lugs as well. Spacers are cheap though, pick them up and give it a shot.

I might be able to get my hands on a set of the stock Mazda 6 17's and I was wondering if the hub-bore is the correct size for the P5's or did those of you who have these have to use hub-centric rings?

no hub-centric rings were needed, I just had to get a wheel alignment so I could get my rear wheels on (pissed)
but other than that, they look awesome

Be sure and post pics, I've been dreaming about M6 wheels on a P5 ever since I seen this pic:

Sorry for stealing the pic Worbit, but it's beautiful. :)

I'll be sure to take some pics once all 4 are on, right now it looks kinda fugly with the stockers on the back, but it'll have to do until i get my spacers
(boom03)

I would also recommend getting an alignment. New wheels and tires or not, if the old tires were showing unusual wear (in your case on the inside edge which means too much negative camber), then the alignment is probably off. It may even fix your problem making spacers unnecessary. On the other hand, spacers are cheap and getting a set won't kill the pocketbook.

haha, no prob with using the pic.....i dont float around to all of the different sections on here so its cool. Im about to install a new suspension so ill post new pix once its in :)

Worbit, did you need spacers on the rear wheels?
And, the M6 wheels are 6lbs heavier than the P5s, did you notice a difference in the way the car feels?

no spacers needed and i really dont notice a difference at all......i hated my chromies so this upgrade was totally welcome even if it changed my ride a little bit (which it didnt)

I love that look. Simple and sporty. Looks like a bigger version of my 02 P5 stock wheels which I love.

waiting for wheel alignment appointment...
s*** is retarded in this town
i had to book an oil change 2 weeks in advance!
grrrr...

Change oil yourself ;)

Get some pics when it is done!

Man I just got a set of Mazda 6 wheels for my P5 last month.
I'm just waiting for the tires on the car to wear enough so that I have a reason to spend the money on a new set.
But I love those wheels on our car!

Beautiful. I think the Mazda6 wheels are some of the best looking stock wheels in existance. Hell, I think they're one of the best looking wheels period, stock or not.
